Sepia Details in Monochrome with Dimmed Gamma Value
The opening is very spicy yet still subtle, not in your face with a musket full of spices; the pepper beautifully carries a dry vetiver note that brings the oud like a cloak of shadows. Everything is very smooth and has a gentle smoky note that seamlessly integrates into the monochrome scene, which highlights certain elements in sepia. It is dark but not pitch black; it is a dreamily melancholic scene, late October, a forest walk on a cloudy day. Everything has a slightly surreal touch, and there is mystique in the air, and you smell earth and withered herbs. After a while, you find an idyllic, peaceful little forest cemetery, where the oud note increasingly comes to the fore. The earth shines in sepia and is interspersed with mulch, while you notice a slight greenish shimmer on some gravestones and angel statues. There, the patchouli gently and subtly joins in. The wind is fresh but not cold; it carries the underbrush and a soft, barely perceptible hint of cedar with it. Not pitch black, but a very beautiful, dreamily melancholic fragrance. Thank you very much for the decant, InGENIEur.
