A pretty and fresh aquatic
I took a chance with this fragrance, even though aquatics aren't usually my first choice. Perhaps I was spurred on by the rather hot Summer I was experiencing, so anything that sounded fresh really drew me in.

Matthew Williamson Lotus, I am happy to say, is the best aquatic I have ever had the pleasure of smelling. L'eau par Kenzo pour Femme comes in at a close second place. The reason why I enjoy this fragrance so much, is because the composition is really focused on the fresh floral aspects, and not so much on the oceanic, sometimes chemical-smelling accords.

The opening resembles a well-constructed white floral with fresh, dewy magnolia and lotus blossoms. The scent is jazzed up with zesty bergamot and what appears to be mashed, juicy pears.

What surprised me the most was how strong this fragrance projects on the skin. On a really hot day, one or two sprays is enough to cloud you in scent. I really want to smell the original Matthew Williamson now, to see how it compares to this flanker.

It's actually hard to believe that this brand is relatively unknown in Australia. I find myself disappointed often by how under privileged we are in regards to cosmetics and popular overseas brands. Matthew Williamson Lotus is so perfectly suited to our hot climate and beach culture.

Matthew Williamson Lotus has great longevity, rather outstanding actually for something so fresh. I'm also very thankful that this fragrance never ventures down a soapy or shampoo-like path, remaining fresh and unique throughout its development. I am well and truly impressed. Thank you to my dear friend, (you know who you are), for providing me with a very generous sample.

Tropical-tinged magnolia, softly floral, with a hint of rainforest aquatic. Dreamily soft summer scent.

Pleasant floral scent with fresh, neat flowers and zesty, cool blackcurrant. The petals are bright and smooth.

Beautifully summery like a shimmering garden pond: water flowers float peacefully and lightly under the warm sky.

Magnolia in its pure form. Fresh, clear, and a cheerful mood-lifting scent. Always wearable, but best in summer or on dark winter days.
