2007 vs 2015 - a declaration of love for both.
What makes the 2007 version so special? How does it differ in scent from its younger version? How can I tell which one it is from the bottle?
After falling in love with both the Infusion d'Iris from 2015 and the one from 2007 right at the beginning of my perfume time (someone was still doing bottlings back then, thanks again!), I was looking for a leftover bottle of the old version. It took me over a year. (Thanks again!) This perfume has become rare. Yet we see it everywhere and all the time in recommendations, in reviews, in sales. Usually it's the 2015 version instead, which has simply been mixed up. In most cases, there is no malice behind this. When tagging, you have to write out more or less the entire perfume name until the 2015 is displayed at all, and even then the 2007 is still at the top. If you don't know, you might think that there is only this one version. I find it difficult when it's intentional and someone sells the 2015 as a 2007 - with a mark-up because it's discontinued - but most of the time it's not really meant to be malicious, often the purchase date is still in the 2020s, then it's actually clear.
Differences on the bottle
If you only have front photos: the old badge has a much finer chain.
However, the most striking and clearest is the lettering on the side of the bottle, which can also be found on the packaging.

Clearly, they are both versions of the same perfume: the elegant iris classic, no-brainer, office fragrance, all-time favorite, etc., but the differences are still clear. It's not for nothing that Parfumo has two entries with different fragrance notes.
I think of it as a summer and winter version for me.
The 2015 version begins with more mandarin freshness, but overall the fragrance remains more transparent and lighter despite the powdery iris in the center.
The 2007 has a lot more density and substance, more of the often-invoked "dust", a little more green, a subtle astringency due to the vetiver and noticeably less sweetness, a little more sillage.
I love them both. Period. I'm glad that I know and have both of them. The 2015 clearly has the edge in summer, I also prefer the clean unobtrusiveness before going to sleep, but the 2007 has a depth that always gets me. I can rarely resist the fine, golden sparkle of incense. I still use it a lot less, but of course that's mainly due to the difficulty of obtaining it.
