Reminiscent of L'Instant

Ramon Molvizar SOL/SUN edp bears an unmistakeable resemblance to Guerlain L'INSTANT edp. Both are sweet, powdery florientals, and I find both of them appealing. Although the precise floral and oriental notes are slightly different in the two compositions, the end product is very similar.

I find SOL/SUN slightly more sweet and less powdery than L'INSTANT, but they are clearly close siblings. A unique feature of SOL/SUN is that suspended in the perfume are flakes of gold! I doubt that they contribute anything to the olfactory experience, but they do add a visible touch of luxury to what is a sumptuous scent. Although benzoin is not listed among the notes, there is definitely a rich benzoin/resin quality to this creation, which I recommend for wintertime wear to those who appreciate florientals such as L'INSTANT.

Mr. Molvizar makes it immediately clear with the bottle and on his official website that he wants to serve our need for luxury. Gold flakes in a round flacon upside down in a square cushion, like an orb but more glittering, set with Svarovski stones and surrounded by a sun corona.

The orchid dominates the smell here for me. But what a rose orchid is supposed to be, is not clear to me. Maybe he means pink orchid? That could really be a translation error.

I think the smell is very sweet. Familiar tester M smells synthetic (because too sweet) flowers and pipe tobacco(!). Pipe tobacco is then probably the lotus? I guess that you had to save money on the scent (synthetic) because you had already invested so much money in the admittedly really great flacon.

It's just 27.5°C in here and that's definitely not the right temperature for any orchid scent. In winter Sol would get maybe 7.5 points from me, because I'm usually into orchid scent. Sol can be used therapeutically as a (group) narcotic at this temperature. Even though the scent is called "sun", you should only wear it in summer if you can let yourself fall into the cool swimming pool right away. Or stop in the evening when the sun has gone down ("No Sol"). I involuntarily imagine a dancing belly dancer wearing golden shiny clothes (in the style of RPG armour, i.e. with very little fabric) and waving a waving veil. But now I am also totally threatened by the scent.
