Mr. Aluminium
La Yuqawam was a familiar name to me because of the first, only true and probably best "Tuscan Leather" clone, but the series offers a lot more! "Ambergris Showers" is a stylish work of art between the chairs that could hardly be further away from a clone. A totally independent and fine perfume... i thought at least until I had the "Irish Leather" under my nose, which smells even better and very similar. Nevertheless: "Ambergris Showers" is noble from the packaging to the fragrance, high-quality and damn sexy. He is well received by everyone without chumming up, is conceited and a charmer at the same time. And above all: apart from the much more expensive memo there is nothing comparable!
"Ambergris Showers" is first and foremost a sexy refresher, as if Tangerine were dripping over ice-cold aluminium. Later it becomes creamier and reminds of leathery powder, balsamic and modern, almost futuristic. Without losing too much of cosiness. I like the top note the most, I'd like to have it longer. I even think she's simply terrific. Tangy and glossy, strong in character and summery. A leather scent like no other. With the above, hardly known exception. Ambroxan also plays along well, giving him a sea-like beard. A fragrance that doesn't want to commit itself and that doesn't even have to. He's too good for that, too confident. A dominator. I also understand the associations with gin - and after Sambucca it is my second favourite hard alcohol. No wonder, especially with these notes in the base, a Leimbacher-Best-Of, that I quickly fell for "Ambergris Showers". I won't let him go. All right, I'll give you some bottlings. But the rest is meeeeeeeiiinsss ;-).
Flacon: great piece, especially the wooden packaging is noble and great! Plays leagues over his price.
Sillage & durability: maybe it's due to the tropical temperatures at the moment, but here it weakens and I think the ratings above are much too high - very close and maximum 5 hours, rather less. And I've already put my foot down on the spray head! But can also be due to my great love for his top note, which makes me subconsciously ddn rest of the scent hide ^^.
Conclusion: undercooled, hard-hearted and mega-attractive - always oscillating between Badboy and Kuschelbär. Absolutely big! The metal man.
