This is again a typical case of "the statement casterl is not enough".
It's really something special.
I'm still looking for the right summer scent because of my non-drawing to the classic citric and aquatic refreshers.
Winter and autumn - yes, there are many here, because I like sweet, balsamic, creamy fragrances. But in the summer sieht´s for me so far ebb out. Much tried, little achieved. And then comes a more pleasing, then colognets itself after 1 hour. Last done with "Gentleman Givenchy Cologne@Givenchy". Elder there, wech.
That's really not the case with Ambergris Showers. But now in order.
I came across the fragrance and the matching bottling through Rasasi´s Tuscan Leather clone La Yuqawam. I found it qualitatively so stunning that I needed another bottling of this summer flanker here.
Freshly sprayed on, I was disappointed at first: Ambergris Showers starts fresh and cucumbery, like pulling tomatoes from a vine. This green tomato tendril chord is underlaid with a watery citric, which is more reserved than the green notes. So this is galbanum? The whole thing is also sour somehow, but only very slightly, and not of citric provenance. More like tea, macha tea: cool, fruity, sour. The whole thing then lies on a metallic base. Difficult to describe. Not the usual pencil lead note, not even the metallic note from "Pegasus@Parfums de Marly". No, rather such a cool, distanced-watery metal note: cold, clear water that runs down a metal installation, or better still: condensed water on an ice-cold pipe outside, when it is really hot.
In the further course of the fragrance a soft leather note takes over, which together with some smoke actually forms the basis of the fragrance, but without ever striking out this cool-green fruitiness; This becomes milder, rounder, earthy, perhaps even a little sweetish, but never leaves the parquet.
This may sound like a pretty crazy mixture now, but it works wonderfully, as a fresh summer scent away from the usual suspects, or at best with their borrowings. Of all the summer scents I've had the chance to test so far, Ambergris Showers is definitely the freshest, or rather the most refreshing. Because: I get this cool association without menthol or the like with no other fragrance.
The perfume is indeed unique, unique, as the saying goes. At least in design I wouldn't know anything that smells similar. One really stands out here, also because of the persistence of the fragrance, whereby the Sillage, as well as the whole concept, are quite office suitable, because not obtrusive. But he's not a compliment getter, he's too special for that, rather perhaps a reason to talk. He simply lacks the crowdpleaser attributes of an Aventus, Invictus, Fierce... Ambergris Showers isn't really complex, but you have to be a bit into perfumes to appreciate him.
The best way to wear it is Ü30, unplayful, not too extroverted, but individual: "Look here, this is how perfume can smell", best in summer, but then practically all day long and for any occasion. I think that this is more a mood or type dependent fragrance than an occasion or season dependent fragrance, therefore certainly best suited as a signature fragrance.
For the approx. 100 EUR, which you can currently print for 75ml of this EdP, you get a high-quality, individual fragrance with the luxurious presentation already familiar from normal La Yuqawam, including a magnetic cap in a high-quality wooden box.
In short, Ambergris Showers is a perfume experience at every level, if not for everyone, a refreshing, summery scent painting that I would like to unreservedly recommend.
