Instant Classic: A Fragrance That Does It All
Wow. Just wow. This fragrance is an absolute winner across the board. The composition and blend are masterful, resulting in incredible sillage and undeniable quality. From the packaging and design to the surprisingly good price point, it's hard to fault anything. What's truly impressive is its versatility – it works just as well for a workout as it does for formal events or a wedding. This scent genuinely brightens the wearer's surroundings.
Personally, I found Irish Leather off-putting, but this? This is love at first sniff. The notes I pick up are a refreshing blend of pine needles and mandarin in the opening, followed by a comforting heart of dried chamomile and a hint of tea, all grounded by a clean, almost ambergris-like base (even if it's not actually in there). It reminds me of a cleaner, less sweet version of Aventus' drydown. There's no heavy sweetness or typical fragrance clichés here – just a rich, natural, and powerful yet soothing aroma.
Rasasi, you've created something special. Please, please don't change a thing. Keep the quality high, the price reasonable, and this will be a legend. This fragrance has genuinely impressed me.

Cool Water EDP
Admittedly...the title is borrowed from a statement about this fragrance, but I just liked the thought too much not to bring it up again. However, that alone wouldn't do justice to the scent. Because after La Yuqavam, Ambergris Showers is the next great fragrance from this brand. The "regular" Yuqavam was already really good, but since I already had a nearly identical scent with Tuscan Leather, it had to go, and once again I made a blind purchase with Ambergris Showers, precisely because of the lovely statement...and something fresh and maritime is always useful!
Ambergris Showers indeed starts off very fresh, maritime...without any shower gel freshness. No nth lemon water or beach feeling from the drugstore shelf, yes, just as one would wish for a rich Cool Water EDP. In the background, however, all sorts of green, herbal notes are frolicking...herbs, resins, slightly smoky, very spicy overall, which exactly sets it apart from all the designer fresh scents, valuable, serious, not something you've smelled a thousand times...this part once again reminds me of French Lover, over which a maritime freshness hovers...great mixture. After 1-2 hours, the salty-freshness settles more into the background, without completely disappearing. The scent becomes warmer and increasingly woody, herbaceous-aromatic...sometimes it reminds me of Encre Noire...only with a mini-oriental touch...but really just very, very subtly...for a moment you think you catch a hint of Tuscan Leather, just without any sweetness.
The fragrance has great longevity, 8 hours are definitely achievable, even in warm weather like today...it then glides away in a woody-warm and slightly herbal manner. The sillage can't quite keep up; in the first 1-2 hours it is really strong, but then it transitions to a skin-close scent, without ever becoming completely intimate. For me, even at 25-26 degrees today, it's a bit too subtle, so unfortunately it can't stay. Ambergris Showers is for me 70:30 a men's fragrance, but it is still recommended for women to test. On me, the scent comes out strongly masculine.
The biggest compliment I can give Ambergris Showers is that it smells better than 98% of all new designer creations, it smells new and different, and its affordable price of €70 (online price) is never apparent, it consistently smells valuable and absolutely niche. For me, it's already a first highlight of 2016!

Mr. Aluminium
La Yuqawam was of course known to me through the first, one true, and probably best "Tuscan Leather" clone, but the line offers incredibly much more! "Ambergris Showers" is a stylish work of art caught between genres, that could hardly be further from a clone. A completely independent and fine perfume... at least that’s what I thought until I briefly had "Irish Leather" under my nose, which smells even better and very similar. Nevertheless: "Ambergris Showers" is noble from the packaging to the scent, high-quality and damn sexy. It appeals to everyone without being obsequious, is conceited and a charmer at the same time. And above all: apart from the significantly more expensive Memo, there is nothing comparable!

"Ambergris Showers" is first a sexy refresher, as if you were dripping tangerine over ice-cold aluminum. Later it becomes creamier and most resembles leathery powder, balsamic and modern, almost futuristic. Without losing too much coziness. I particularly like the top note, I would have liked it to last longer. I even consider it simply magnificent. Zesty and shiny, characterful and summery. A leather scent like no other. With the aforementioned, hardly known exception. Ambroxan also plays a significant role, giving it a marine-like beard. A scent that doesn’t want to be pinned down and doesn’t have to be. It’s too good, too self-assured for that. A dominator. I also understand the associations with gin - and after sambuca, it’s my second favorite hard alcohol. So it’s no wonder, especially with these notes in the base, practically a Leimbacher best-of, that I quickly fell for "Ambergris Showers." I won’t let it go. Okay, you can have a few decants. But the rest is mineeeeee ;-).

Bottle: great piece, especially the wooden packaging is exquisite and fantastic! Plays leagues above its price.
Sillage & Longevity: maybe it’s due to the tropical temperatures at the moment, but here it falters and I consider the ratings above to be far too high - up close and at most 5 hours, rather less. And I’ve really given it a good spray! But it could also be due to my great love for its top note, which makes me subconsciously tune out the rest of the scent^^.

Conclusion: cool, hard-hearted, and mega attractive - always wavering between bad boy and cuddly bear. Absolutely great! The metal man.

The End
of my fragrance journey and eternal search for "something better"? I could most likely answer this with "yes" for this scent. It's been a long time since a fragrance has captivated and overwhelmed me like when I first tested the Nasomatto line. Initially, LYAS starts off somewhat uninterestingly fresh, which one might think is familiar from other fragrances. But shortly after, herbs come into play, barely distinguishable and categorized, overwhelming yet still only in the background. Simply top-notch. I think it could be the scent of a thermal bath in Tokyo, or even the office scent of our great-grandchildren. A timeless yet futuristic fragrance that conveys a certain longing for distant places. This is likely evoked by a herbal mixture in the base that clearly sets itself apart from other fresh classics. As it develops, this becomes more and more apparent, yet it never overshadows the green and fresh notes. Instead, they contribute to an overall calming impression that simultaneously radiates individuality and self-confidence. Such associations I only know from a few Creed fragrances (like Royal Oud), which also possess a certain "quirkiness."
The longevity and sillage are surprisingly very good. Unlike what one might expect from some summer fragrances, the two sprays of LYAS still envelop me quite strongly after 8 hours in the office. It is definitely present, although its fresh accords begin to weaken a bit. The base, which can be referred to as the DNA here, is unmistakably and clearly perceptible after 8 hours.
A wonderful fragrance whose name really sums it all up. It is "irresistible" and definitely has something in common with an "amber shower" (hence my association with a thermal bath?).
With LYAS, Rasasi has certainly made a name for itself after LYPH, and the Arabic family business can probably rightly report profits in the West with this. Keep it up.

Irish Leather + sea scent. Compared to Memo IL, the bitterness of the green part is less and instead it has something like the saltiness.

Its ight. Like most dupes it lacks complexity. Linear with only a few notes prominent you would get bored quickly.

Terminator wears Ambergris Showers. The scent is so steely, so tough, so devoid of irony, so masculine, that it’s actually good. I like it!

For forest wanderers - soft leather and green, no steel/plastic for me. H+S is a whole lot better than Memo. Compliment magnet.
