Powdery Floral
This perfume is soft and powdery. The bottle is quite lovely and longevity good. Out of all the scent notes, I pick up gardenia, orange, and vanilla. Perhaps the moss creates a powder scent? I don’t know. It’s very powdery on my skin, which isn’t terrible, but also not something I strive to achieve when wearing a perfume.

Nonetheless, it’s a decent fragrance. I can wear it to bed with no problem.

Hibiscus, bergamot, and oakmoss
Despite hibiscus not being mentioned at all in the notes, to me this has very similar DNA to Hibiscus Paradise Eau de Parfum - except that the bergamot here was a bit too sharp, and the oakmoss a bit off-putting for me personally.

I can imagine on the right skin chemistry though, this would be lovely - just not for me, as it felt too "screechy" and slightly synthetic to my nose.

The opening declares what this will be: light citrus, white florals, and vanilla. It's a structure I'm coming to associate with a certain strain popular women's perfumes of the 2020s -- Prada Paradoxe, Mugler Alien Goddess EDP, Michael Kors Gorgeous!, MCM EDP, Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle, Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia, Giorgio Armani My Way, to name the ones I've encountered. I have no problems with this kind of fruit-floral-vanilla fragrance, of course, so it's a question of how this manifestation compares with the others.

The citrus top is a bit vague and my spouse said it smells like Juicy Fruit, though its not without its refinements, however briefly it appears. The last time I put it on, I was getting more gardenia than orange blossom, but my notes from the past tend in the other direction. No idea if that means that the florals are just a bit vague/well-blended or if this is attributable to me taking three years to finish this sample. The vanilla base isn't too strong or choking, and between that and the oakmoss it has less of a dessert vibe than many vanilla fragrances and remains neutral. Projection is decent for 2-4 hours, then it fades to a skin scent and becomes increasingly harder to find over the next 2 hours or so.

In short, pleasant, but to me, not remarkable. I think La Belle did it better, though that's arguably more suited for colder weather, while Voce Viva is lighter and suited for springtime. Voce Viva simply doesn't have much depth to me, and it leaves me craving Bvlgari Baciami more than anything.

But then again -- I don't know if it's just because it's the perfume that made me realize this fruit-floral-vanilla trend, or if this is an accurate assessment after all -- but Voce Viva feels like a Platonic Form of this genre of 2020s women's perfume. Putting it on today, it felt so familiar, perfectly in between all the fragrances I've mentioned above -- no coconut, nor overly strong orange blossom or tuberose, nor rosy flourishes, nor gourmand inclinations. Fruit, flowers, vanilla. That's it.

You could call it generic or iconic -- I'm not sure which. I'm not judgy enough to make a determination there. It's pretty and pleasant, and it's hard to have complaints.

A Paradoxe twin
Citrus + white floral + vanilla moss/musk drydown is so formulaic of the 2020 designer frags at this point. Voce Viva, Prada Paradoxe, GA My Way are the main three that follow this, and yet My Way manages to stand out with its grape-bubblegum like tuberose. That leaves us with Voce Viva and Paradoxe, fraternal twins. Paradoxe is sweeter, and this is... well, maybe heavier isn't the right word; it's stronger.

It's more in your face with its orange, and less about the florals. It's very openly mossy in the drydown, with vanilla but not much sweetness left. It's almost tropical, definitely a warm weather wear. The sillage and longevity were average.

I can wear the other two and not get bored, they're simple but fun. But something about this one annoyed me by day 3 of my wear test, and by day 4 I started layering with another fragrance to "improve" this - it just wasn't sweet enough, but not fresh enough, and so I just found it lacking.

It's not a surprise to me that the other two continue to be well known, well sold winners, while Voce Viva has slipped out of the limelight. It's just not as well blended. If you don't like sweet, if you like a little mossy earthiness in your vanilla drydown, this is probably perfect for you! But it's not going to be the big crowd pleaser that Paradoxe is.

Light, sweet, fresh, and inoffensive
Despite all the notes, I only get orange blossom and bergamot.
I had a 10mL sample that I wore several times.
I would love the smell of all the notes individually, and this turned out nicely. The orange blossom is bubblegum-sweet, and the bergamot sparkles over the top of it.
I could smell this perfume for about two hours on my coat. It doesn’t project that much. I think it would be good for an office.

Basic floral fragrance, nothing outstanding, nothing bad. It’s very sweet and powdery.

Nothing unique, but a classic type of scent. Sweet orange & orange blossom with a teeny ginger kick. Widely appealing and an easy reach.

A typical women's every day scent. Inoffensive and definitely the "Anne" choice for someone who just wants to smell good but not memorable.

A day scent: light, quite sweet, not so original. I was expecting more for its price . Average sillage and refined bottle.

Beautiful floral, slightly sweet from vanilla, mandarin orange blossoms, with gardenia powdery accord. Pretty and uplifting. Perfection.

Fresh orange with a tinge of ginger. Light floral smell overall. Painfully plain to me.

still just a souped-up studio voice from the tape.
