A little (big) insider tip and its problem...

Hello everyone,

Today I would like to talk about a very special fragrance, Parfum de la Nuit 2.

Foreword:

I recently treated myself to this one, partly because it was used (more on that later) and primarily because I wanted an "old" batch; I have one from 2020!

Why an old one?

The topic of batches is a very tedious and serious one - but why exactly?

Companies like Roja, Xerjoff, MFK, CC, and others have had to adjust their entire lineup from 21 to 22 (IFRA regulations), and for some, the differences from before to after were less severe, while for others, they were really noticeable, even to the point of being quite disappointing. And here at Roja, I find them to be softer, more pleasing, with fewer rough edges, and the performance is not what it used to be... a good example is my Diaghilev Parfum, which used to last almost 17 to 20 hours, while the new one lasts just about 10 hours and is significantly softer...

Many also say, yes, but what if the fragrance runs out with an old batch... To that, I always say this: I have xx fragrances and some ML or liters of fragrances. If it happens, it happens; then I can get something new....

How does it smell:

It is warm, woody, slightly sweet, slightly smoky, and VERY alcoholic! And that is sooo great!

Why?

There are more specific directions like this. Certain directions that you don't wear every day. Those directions never lose their charm and magic, and this is the same here!

I love these smoky - slightly alcoholic and subtly sweet fragrances, like Herod, Vanille Havane Eau de Parfum, and also Triumph of Bacchus Extrait de Parfum + Carlisle, so you know what VIBE I mean = the rough direction.

And the Parfum de la Nuit 2 focuses noticeably on the alcoholic aspect. It might even resemble Enigma pour Homme Parfum, which is DEFINITELY mine - mine is from 2015 (!) and the Enigma pour Homme Parfum has that cola note = the Parfum de la Nuit 2 does not; it plays with COGNAC, and not just fleetingly as is often the case, but for a very long time, and certain notes and developments harmonize beautifully over time!

In the boozy direction, in a sophisticated (wealthy - silly word, I know) gentleman style, it is my reference.

How does it come across and when would I recommend it?

All year round, but only in the evenings!
At parties, in bars, cocktail evenings, dining out, and on dates.
How does it come across - absolutely great.

(For the right character (also visually), a 15 out of 10 = safe)

If you want exactly that + are looking for it... = here!
(I have mine, and it has come to stay!)

However, it has one big problem, and that is its price. One doesn't need to sugarcoat it or anything.... it is a fact that it is astronomical and less justified, etc. I would love to recommend it, and very much so, but not at that price, but do give it a try!

And now, have a nice day/evening or whenever you read this review, best regards, Benny
_______

(Now the same as almost always - because it applies!)

Now to the topic of luxury:

As you can see in part in my profile, I have really smelled many fragrances, and there are fragrances where you can smell a certain (sometimes) strong synthetic quality, and you quickly realize that some fragrance houses focus more on quantity than quality, while there are others where you can tell "oh come on, let's put in more + better ingredients," and you can smell that at the end of the day.

A brief note on packaging, bottle, sprayer:

I’ll keep it short: I give a 10 out of 10 in every category, and I know very well that tastes are very different. So if someone honestly rates this with a 7 or less... - PHEW. Beautiful and very high-quality cap, nice timeless bottle design, etc.... so I find it very hard to rate it differently, and I say this not because I like or dislike a brand!

Now a quick note on my opinion:

I am not sponsored, influenced by anyone, receiving money, or anything else. I approach the topic of perfume as I am, honestly; everything else is not my style. My true personal opinion is very VALUABLE to me, and I hope perhaps ;) that this is noticeable. If I don't like something, such as packaging, bottle, sprayer, or H/S, I will communicate that too!
