Triumph of Bacchus Argos 2023 Extrait de Parfum

I started with the original edp and i was not a fan at first. took me about 2 wears to make it my signature scent and another 2 wears to be my favorite fall/winter scent. Then i got the extrait and man oh man. now i have 5 argos fragrances. im not the best at describing a fragrance but i do own a very expensive collection and let me say i am tempted to sell everything i own and buy a shelf full of these

WOW WOW WOW! i blind bought this a while ago due to the hype and at one point owned both extrait and edp. initially i wasnt blown away and i thought it was quite overhyped, the booze was strong and the dry down was unique, but it simply didint impress me.

That all changed after i gave it a bit of time and realised i reached for it more and more, the scent is simply addicting and an easy daily for me to reach for, the profile has gotten much more apealling and fruity while also having the tobacco in the back!

in comparison to the edp i prefer this one because of 2 main reasons, the extrait is more boozy and has more tobacco. the strength of the two is about the same on my skin so its not really anything too bad.

the two complaints i have about it is that the liquid stains white clohtes super duper easily and my cap broke very easily which ive noticed is kinda common amongst argos fragrances and its just a bit saddening.

Triumph of Bacchus ist wunderschönes, süßes, extrem starkes und opulentes Orient Monster!

Ich habe den Duft nun schon viele Male aufgetragen und bin immer noch von dem tollen Opening fasziniert! Jedoch lässt die Schönheit des Dufts nicht nach. Er geht von einer bisschen stechenden Süße zu einer angenehmen und männlichen würzigen Süße.

Der Duft ist trotz seines hohen Preises ein super Kauf, den ich jedem ans Herz legen kann, der starke, süße und leicht dunkle Düfte mag.

Für mich, eines meiner Favoriten, eine glatte 10!

I've got nothing good to say - the bottle is amazing, but the scent was a big disappointment for me. Too much saffron, and peaches and apples clash with each other in a not pleasant way. More than a triumph, this is a fail. Not even the rum and tobacco note saves it for me... I see the concept: a cornucopia of different and rich notes, a horn of plenty... I see it, but it doesn't work for me.

After testing hundreds of perfumes - I realized that I am not a fan of peach or pear forward scents. That is the opening of Triumph of Bacchus a big let down as the peach dominates, the booziness from the Rum balances the off-putting peach smell. Those two accords dominate the opening and I am not detecting apple or saffron.

The scent takes a turn for the best in the mid and drydown where the pear fades, the booziness continues but amber, tobacco and patchouli surface. In those two phases Triumph of Bacchus is almost 90 percent reminiscent of Side Effect. If I have to compare the two I will say that Triumph of Bacchus is stronger an a tad harsher and definitely last longer. Side Effect while not as strong and long lasting is a bit more refined in its structure.

The structure is the same as Il Padrino (I know Triumph of Bacchus was released first) who follows the same path but the peach is replaced by blackcurrant which I prefer.

I won't be purchasing it because of the opening and the fact that I have Side Effect and owning the two is redundant. But if you do not own Side Effect and enjoy the smell of peach in your perfumes I would recommend that you at least try it out.
