Nights in Lavender Blue
A new "cheapie" has now joined my collection - of course, it was once again a blind swap that, like many before it, enjoys my full satisfaction.
Cool and fresh, it starts into the night - green, citrusy, and spiced with a hint of pepper.
Some fine flowers come into play, all of which remain quite subtly in the background. Very dominant and quite natural is one of my favorite fragrance notes - LAVENDER. Paired with well-perceptible rosemary. Just this duo alone sends the score soaring to a solid 9.
When the earthy aromas and woods play with all the fragrance notes and sit on a mossy cushion, it results in another boost. A half point deduction from the 10 is merely due to the underlying heliotrope note, which, while not really disturbing, slightly "sweetens" the otherwise dry, herbaceous scent progression - otherwise a perfect nose-pleaser, just the way I like it!
