An intriguing little (big) scent
I didn't think i would want to write such a long review for a perfume, but there's a first time for everything.
My journey into perfumes happened spontaneously. When i was in my early twenties, one of my hobbies would be to go to the local drugstore and try two or three perfumes. I would buy the one i liked the next week or a day or two later. I would have (you guessed it) two or three perfumes in my collection every year. And being so young and inexperienced, i wanted to give myself time to see how the scent and aroma would adapt to me during wear.
As a beginner, i didn't make beginner mistakes that i would do ten years later. As for this perfume, which i decided to write a longer review for (hope someone will read it), i came across it by accident. I was looking for a perfume, also cheap (everything under $100 is cheap) that i liked at first and similar to my first perfume. The same one that made perfume a hobby for me. To be honest, that perfume is no longer available in my country and half of Europe. I hope i can find a shop in the EU that ships to my country.
STR8 Game? hmm, interesting name, i admit. I admit that i neglected the hobby for more than five years (Boss Bottled) and the last perfumes i bought were last year s.Oliver Superior and s.Oliver So Pure.
Superior seemed similar to the one i like the most but it disappointed me after two hours, after it matured. It simply has two ingredients that start to dominate and i don't like them at all, so much so that they remind me of a condition when i was sick. That was the mistake i didn't make even as a beginner..
Well, yes, yes, where did i stop? STR8 Game. Cheap, yes, great packaging and presentation, yes. When i saw the packaging, the name, the graphics, something simply drew me to try a little. And so, with one spread on my left hand, it immediately aroused similar senses to that first, long-ago perfume that i liked at first sight. This was not exactly the case.
But something wouldn't give me peace in the corner of my brain. My gray cells were constantly fighting to find the third note and to complete the picture in my head. Lavender, yes, Vanilla, yes, third, what could be the third?? Chocolate, no, a type of chocolate, yes. Praline, yes. However, I smelled another note there, the note of some exotic fruit that i'm not really a fan of.
The devil wouldn't let me rest and said, for the first time in my life, i'm going to read a perfume review. When i guessed the first two and the third, the third is pineapple..
I'm not a big fan of pineapple, the smell or the fruit itself. I ate pineapple as a child, but canned and nothing really attracted me to that fruit. So i took a shower at night and in the morning i could still smell the perfume, although during the day it had more notes of vanilla, lavender, orange blossom, which I liked.
And so i couldn't get that perfume out of my head for a week and today i decided to buy it. Honestly, the price was $10 so it's a no brainer for a scent that's worn early in the morning or late at night, in cooler, more gloomy weather, ideally.
And we come to my first assessment:
Scent - 7/10
Longevity - 8/10
Sillage - 06/10
Bottle - 9/10
The bottom line is that this EDT can appeal to all men from late teenage days to retired men with an average pack rating of 7.5/10
Conclusion:
That score is much more than some popular perfumes have scored, miraculously costing only $10. Of course, someone will not like the scent, some mighy find it soapy, more synthetic but that's just the way it is. I was surprised and will gladly wear it. One, two sprays are quite enough for 8 hours of maturation and wear.
If you made it this far, I hope you are satisfied with my first long review, thanks for reading!
