Surprise with sentimental value
Following the reviews here, I had bought the Ahead from the series at the local action market. He likes extremely well, and so I overcame again and successfully my good resolution to buy no more cheap fragrances. Among the last two EdT still available on the shelf was also the Hero.
The first olfactory sample I found disappointing, Altherrenduft in lasch. The second time I found him already interesting, and then I first puzzled, what reminds me of the fragrance.
It's a good memory: my regular sauna in Berlin in the 1990s, the BLUB, unfortunately burned down. Countless infusions with anise, birch, etc. had left their traces in the wood paneling. Perhaps many saunas smell like this, including some of the many I've visited. But it is by no means a typical sauna scent. Nevertheless: In my head cinema the infusion bucket is still in Britz. So the "hero" has all chances to become my spring fragrance 2021.
I find an anise note with some sweet wood and a little freshness. The scent lasts well, evolving not spectacularly, but audibly. This is definitely a serious perfume, much more than one should expect at the price.
