Gift of the winter
It may be sounds weird, that I am so enthusiastic on a wintery fragrance after just we extricated ourselves from the winter.

After reading PBullFriend's review I am also not 100% sure, that this oil belongs to winter. When I first sniffed it in the sample vial, I was wondering, which color is stronger: rose or green. Green is absolutely winner while SAGE is worn.

Pine lopping, fragrance of a street at Christmas night, when the warm yellow lights spread on the snowy pavement as molten honey, fern, metallic green, cold... I really like it. Later on the scent flashes a bunch of flowers (translation of my nose says it is lilly-of-the-valley), but the end is smoky green, still algid, and crumbled earth absorbs the plants slowly.

I understand, why can it mean flowers and garden to others, and I believe, that others will understand, why do I feel snow and pine.

SAGE is strong, lasting fragrance, and I rather would recommend it to women. Motherly, festive scent.

happy garden scent
The notes on this one wouldn't make me think it was for me - I haven't really cared for any cucumber scents, the only sage I've tried is a Caswell-Massey one that smells like an old-fashioned barbershop, and I probably wouldn't recognize the other notes if I smelled them individually.

But, oh! Together they smell warm and sunshiney on me. I get a mental image of a pretty brunette in big white sunglasses and suntan lotion wearing a yellow and white gingham shorts outfit sunning in her garden on a wooden chaise longue, surrounded by luscious big blooms. (Hydrangea, maybe, and zinnias or gerbera daisies - lots of orange and yellow and periwinkle blue.) She's very happy with life and enjoying the peaceful day and the buzzing of the bees. She's not me, but I don't mind smelling like her for a while! (071610)

Very Unusual
Actually, I can only agree with Turandot. I will leave the poetry to her and provide my sober comment.

It is zesty, fresh, and has a cool sweetness.

A hint of green cucumber is present and fits very nicely into the overall composition. However, the scent does not come across as herbal or pungent in any way.
It has a very gentle spiciness, and somehow it feels playful to me. A fine powderiness contributes to this. Yes, it is green and powdery, which is a rather uncommon combination. Additionally, a light fresh, or rather aquatic, accent keeps appearing, playing into the sweet and soft notes. This makes this fragrance quite unique.

A small downside is that it seems somewhat artificial. Nevertheless, I quite like it.

Poetry with a Little Smile
There are things that I find beautiful, but that simply do not suit me. This fragrance belongs to that category. When I sniff it, I see delicate lace, fine batiste, my mother's damask table linen, and similar treasures. But not a display of grandeur, rather the fine little things in life.

The scent evokes a very light, delicate green color in me. It is cool-floral, although even here the term floral is already a bit of a stretch. The scent of sage and the fine delicate sweet peas that climb up the fence is truly not a floral opulence, but rather a very fine fluid. The initially somewhat surprising cucumber in the top note I hardly recognize; however, it could certainly contribute to the coolness and objectivity of the fragrance.

Strangely, I perceive Sage Machado as a very intimate scent. As if one were quietly smiling while leafing through an old poetry album in a quiet hour.

It's lovely that there are such little treasures to discover, even if this is not a fragrance that I feel I must buy for myself. I would prefer to wear other scents. But if I were to receive it as a gift, it would be a small treasure in my collection, just like my mother's table linen, which I also do not use but carefully cherish.
