Chypre for Beginners
According to the pyramid, "Scent Bar 110" is a Chypre. This is undoubtedly true, but "Scent Bar 110" is somewhat of a beginner's Chypre fragrance. There are no dramatic scent events and no long progression.
At first, I perceive a nice woody scent, already slightly creamy. I actually think that "Scent Bar 110" isn't a Chypre at all. But then a moderately herbal note quickly emerges, very pleasant, citrusy, and slightly sharp. Neroli is listed, so that is also intended. This herbal phase lasts about 5 minutes, and a very lovely floral blend takes over, while the woody-fougere note recedes into the background, still very delicate and resinous. It prevents "Scent Bar 110" from becoming too sweet.
I do not perceive the strict clove, nor any overwhelming white florals. After another 30 minutes, a very creamy scent has developed. Even though it's not listed here, there must also be musk involved, as the resinous-balsamic amber alone typically does not create such a clean creamy scent. I do not perceive any oak moss, which is good for me. The tonka bean with its slightly bitter almond aroma makes "Scent Bar 110" an all-around pleasant fragrance.
You can't go wrong with this; it doesn't subject you to any scent phases that push the limits of unbearable. But "Scent Bar 110" is an unspectacular scent, a bit one-dimensional and monotonous.
Those who enjoy fragrances like "Teint de Neige" will also be satisfied with this scent.
However, it is also quite an expensive fragrance, as I see on the homepage.
I categorize "Scent Bar 110" as a purely feminine fragrance, even though there are consistently very light herbal and bitter notes that can be perceived amidst all the sweetness.
In any case, I would not recommend it to any man, although "Scent Bar 110" would not bother me on a man either.
The longevity is good, the sillage moderate.
