Tea Sweetened with Black Currants
It is probably no secret that everyone knows I am into tea and tea scents. Whenever I see something with tea in it, I have to test it. And whenever I see someone drinking tea with milk, I have to scold them for that sacrilege :D
Anyway, I am really looking forward to trying a fragrance with tea again, even if it is once again "only" green tea, of which I tried quite a few in the summer. But as I said, I can't get enough of tea scents, and with that, I am already getting started.
The scent:
At the beginning, you can smell both the tea well and the black and sweet black currants, which also have a slightly tart scent. The opening is really great, but also very feminine. I mention this now since the fragrance is listed as unisex here.
Just a few moments later, I smell a kind of honey or powdered honey, and I think this could be the honeysuckle, as I just read that honeysuckle is supposed to remind one a bit of honey. This makes the scent slightly more bitter at the same time (at least in the background). However, the tea note has already receded into the background shortly after spraying, but it occasionally pops up, especially in the rising scent cloud.
Later, the black currants seem to lose some intensity, but then they return, although not as strongly as at the beginning. In any case, the "honey" becomes a bit lighter, and the bitterness completely disappears. In the end, it remains sweet with a faint tea note, and the scent is also nicely powdery and soft, all in all very pleasant.
The sillage and longevity:
Since the scent starts sweet and is also powerful, one might think that it radiates well for a long time. Unfortunately, that is not the case, as it soon falls to an average level, especially when the sweetness has diminished. It certainly does not become skin-close, but you won't be trailing a scent trail for long with this fragrance.
The longevity is good; the scent lasts about eight hours on the skin, which is sufficient.
The bottle:
The bottle is rectangular and transparent. The name of the brand, Scent Bar, is written roughly in the middle of the front. The name of the fragrance, which is the number 500 here, is written very large in the upper area. So large that as a stylistic device, the second zero seems to not quite fit on the front, which I think is great. The neck is chrome-plated and has fine lines running through it. The cap is rectangular, clear, and comparatively small.
The bottle looks very modern and almost a bit sterile, like a vial from a future, sterile world. I think it is wonderfully done.
Oh, this is once again a wonderful scent. Deliciously sweet with a hint of tea. And the scent is also listed as unisex. So this time I won't write that ladies should smell delicious with it… but instead that WE ALL must smell delicious with this scent!
Buuuut: Unfortunately, the scent does smell a bit too feminine… um… I mean too girly, which brings us back to the well-known topic of "delicious ladies"... so mean, you ladies always have such great fragrances!!!
*grumble grumble sigh*
In any case, the scent is light, so it should be excellent for use in spring and summer. Because the scent is not overwhelmingly sweet, in case one might have thought that due to the sweet black currants and the honey note.
It can be used both as a nice daytime scent and perhaps for going out, for which you might want to reapply during the latter activity.
As I said, I find it really great, but it would probably suit the ladies here better. I would definitely try it out.
