Candied Fairy Dust... at 103°C
This fragrance fascinates me. During the first test, I was a bit overwhelmed; it just smelled sweet, and I couldn't distinguish individual notes. At the same time, the scent captivated me so much that I had to and wanted to keep smelling my wrist, which led me to spray the fragrance repeatedly, both irritated and fascinated. After my sample was used up, I took a long time to consider purchasing it, as, as mentioned, in Germany there is only the 100ml version, which costs a bit more. But: I do not regret the purchase.
About the scent:
It begins with an immediately present sweetness that I perceive as candied orange, carried by gentle threads of sugar. This sweetness is not shrill and unpleasant, but very lovely, albeit strong. Added to this is the bittersweet lilac, which gives the fragrance something entirely unique. It embraces the sugary top note, which has now solidified into a warm sugar cube, and gives the scent that certain something. It is no coincidence that the scent of a lilac tree is described as magical by the Celts. They believed that the fragrance could transport people to the land of fairies and to otherworldly realms. This is, of course, a bit of a stretch, but I can also perceive something magical and alluring that is hard to describe.
As the scent develops further, a hint of almond flashes briefly, until the fragrance works its way to the base, which for me forms a unity, dominated by the scent of tonka bean, embraced by gentle vanilla. Throughout, the fragrance never loses its pleasant sweetness.
The scent is very intense and can therefore be applied sparingly. The longevity is good. So far, the fragrance retains its magic for me; I still like it very much and look forward to it every time.
