"It is not the destination, it is the journey that matters"
Reading the note list of this perfume, one would expect a kaleidoscope of notes and developments. It it hard to tell where it will all go. That may have been done on purpose, creating some room for interpretation and imagination. It appears to have worked out. Partially, that is.

The scent develops quite fast and does have that kaleidoscope effect to some extent. It progresses from citrus to resinous-floral to woody, basically, with lots of of subtle changes. In the first phase I get citron, osmanthus and a greenish resin (mastic?) mainly. The whole is multi-faceted and stays relatively fresh, almost sour, due to the non-typical citrus notes. In the end the composition glides into all-woody territory.

This one is particularly impressive during the first wear, because it keeps changing shape and you don't know where it is all heading. After one wear it is clear the plot culminates in a nice, but unexciting blend of woods. Let's call it a semi-happy ending, almost an anti-climax. Knowing how it ends takes away the excitement, the suspension of the first wear.

So, well, I guess I changed my mind. In the end it is the destination that matters.

Wanderbrief Blindtest No. 1 yes, really a blind test
Patchouli - one of the most beautiful patchouli notes in this fragrance. At first, earthy, grave-like patchouli, after 15 minutes softer, gentler - but what else? What else is resonating?
Oh, just stay like this, you are so beautiful :-)
The earthiness is softened by a lovely note. After an hour, it is a bit medicinal, but this characteristic can occur in patchouli, I really like that. It could also be absinthe, but I’m probably just imagining that.

In terms of projection, it is quite strong, well perceivable, without me having to hold my nose to my arm.

An hour and a half later, it smells heavenly around me... although heaven has nothing to do with patchouli, rather the opposite direction. It is a scent that I love, very soft and velvety, far removed from the mainstream, what have the perfumers added to it?
I’ll say what I can’t smell, so no wood, no sugar, no animal notes, no white flowers, maybe no other flowers, no fruit (also no vegetables), no edible sweets and no other gourmand notes, no smoke, and I’ll just claim also no musk and no powder.
Maybe a tiny bit green. What do I mean by green? Good question ;-)
Like heavy dark red velvet curtains fading into black, on the windowsill a small pot filled with soil, in the soil grows a rare green herb, someone foreign leans against the curtain like a secret, lightly perfumed, as if the delicate warm skin whispered against the velvet.

Unfortunately, just two hours after spraying, the scent becomes very close to the skin, hence just a whisper, for me beautifully so. One must not forget that I only applied a single spray to my arm, as it is from samples from a wander letter that other participants would like to test as well.

I have never heard of the brand Senyoko, I don’t know where to get the perfumes and what they cost, but my knowledge will now expand, if it’s not too pricey, I would love to have it in my collection.

Does it remind me of Birdie by Xerjoff? The test of Birdie was too long ago, but I remember it being significantly stronger and longer-lasting, but also very similar.
But it has no resemblance to Coromandel Eau de Toilette - that was completely different.
I like patchouli.

After four hours, the scent is gone, no longer perceivable, what a pity, but because it is so beautiful to me, I forgive it for the short longevity. Until the end, it was gorgeous.
Wearable for everyone, I can very well imagine it on women and just as well on men. Maybe one should want to appear mysterious, ‘dreamily looking’

And with this fragrance, I will now first go to the perfume website and look at the fragrance pyramid.
(If there’s no patchouli in it, I’ll bite the edge of the table - and no, there’s no one here to photograph that :p)
Postscript: Wow, a day later I just checked... 50 ml costs €185... dream ended.
I’d like to thank the lovely Murabella again for the wander letter and for allowing me to be part of it and test these exclusive fragrances.

……………………….

Now, a day later, I looked at the pyramid, there is patchouli in it!! I recognized it, I’m happy. But I wouldn’t have been able to name the other notes. It was an exciting and entertaining engagement with the two samples for me, first testing without knowing the notes and then the reveal, it was fun.

A discreet and well-balanced scent for fall. Citric opening with osmanthus and pomegranate. Resinous, green, woody, with a soft patchouli.

You start with citrus and herbs,
resins quickly follow.
In the heart, flowers, softly blooming,
with earthy cedar, the journey ends here.

The sweet lemon powder shines bright, then quickly gathers dust.
It sifts into the dry sawdust. Not worth regretting.

On one hand, damp forest woods, on the other hand, fruity sweet grape sugar… feels unharmonious, forced, and aimless.

Touch my hands,
they are already cold.
Feel my heartbeat,
it is already numb.

Beautiful, multi-layered complex scent with unusual notes. Well done, but the fruity part bothers me personally. Osmanthus Honey
