The Prayer Flute
A little girl was now an ancient flute woman.
So she lifted her ancient flute
and prayed it on television.
It was broadcast all over the world,
but again nothing happened.
“We still don’t reach many places,”
said Dr. Tonningworm.
“I’ll tell you what we need to do.
We need to launch her into the air,
High into the sky!”
The great nations of the world
came together
and built a large rocket,
which had roughly the shape
of a flute.
They attached a capsule,
into which the old woman was to go.
They gave her a microphone
and explained to her,
how to handle it.
At the top, they attached two huge
speakers, and they shot
the rocket high above the Earth
and around the moon.
She prayed the song in outer space.
From the moon,
she saw the wonderful globe of Earth-
blue and peaceful
moving through space.
“My mother,” she sighed,
“my mother.”
She landed in the Pacific,
and the boys from the Navy
fished her out.

The Prayer Flute - The Song of Mother Earth
***
I have listened to this book many times
together with my little son,
and when the scent came to me,
it reminded me so strongly of the preceding passage.
The scent really represents for me
a great challenge,
as it is very difficult to
identify or describe individual notes.
Here is my attempt:
Far out in the atmosphere…
Ozone but also at the same time water
and green, then again everything diffuse
like through a layer of clouds,
before then flowers, metal, and stones
touch and become a whole
together..
A capsule in a space in between
from whose speakers an intensely
and eventually deeply touching song resonates
and at times
even thunders and shakes…
***
The Blue Marble shows the famous photo of Earth, taken in 1972 by the crew of Apollo 17 on their way to the moon, as it displayed the vulnerability and uniqueness of Earth
in the vastness of space.
The scent consists of seven accords,
which represent the intertwined systems of our
Earth.
It is meant to inspire personal
reflection on these complex connections,
as well as to keep open the possibility to
perceive them from a different perspective.
Diane St.Clair enters here with Blue Marble
a completely new terrain for me,
that leaves the familiar comfort zone.
Thank you all so much for reading !!!

I've rarely smelled an aftershave that seems so cheap. It could be from Aldi.
Again, very beautiful lines for the description!
Was it worth stepping out of your comfort zone? ☺️
