Axe Effect in the Luxury Variant
I have another interesting sample of this toxic blue liquid. It seems to be brand new or simply unknown. I had never heard of the brand Taylor of Old Bond Street, but now I have some samples (Thanks, Fishlandmen!).
The Luxury Cologne smells as luxurious as the slums in Cape Town. It has a piercing, synthetic scent that is absolutely unnatural. I have rarely smelled a perfume that smells so little of natural raw materials or familiar scents. It is not completely unbearable, but it is not good or recommendable either. It reflects exactly what the futuristic, artificial color suggests. I don't know if this effect is intentional, but this is how only Axe deodorants or Adidas fragrances like Adventure (or Caesars Men) usually smell, which do it better and have been around much longer!
It is rather summery, but aside from reminding me of a chemistry lab, it brings to mind hardly anything from my memory. A bit citrusy like dish soap or cleaning products. Along with scratchy herbs and wilted flowers. The amber gives it a somewhat animalistic and fecal or impure scent, which can find its fans like Kouros. However, here it is anything but congenial, and therefore it is clearly a thumbs down!
The bottle looks nice, there are certainly worse ones, but the color already gives you a warning. The sillage is medium-strong, fortunately, and the longevity is quite persistent at 7-8 hours even at temperatures above 20 degrees.
Clearly not the best first perfume from a brand, I hope and am convinced that more and better will come from Taylor of Old Bond Street!
