The freezing cold of...

... the almond ice cream that I have in front of me in the ice cream parlor. A few roasted spices are sprinkled over the scoop of ice cream. There's an aquatic note from the nearby lake. It's a lovely warm day.

When applying this perfume, ice-cold almond accords are passed on to the nose. These are joined by spices and aquatic notes. The neroli remains very much in the background. The sweet, cold almond is supported by the dry notes of coumarin and vetiver. Patchouli makes me slightly dark. A beautiful masculine fragrance.

The longevity and silage are average.

This masculine, fresh fragrance can be worn by men of all ages and on warm days for any occasion.

Unfortunately, this wonderful fresh cold almond fragrance has been discontinued.

Remember: Do not use sports fragrances to cover up sweat!

Hello hello and a nice evening everybody! As announced a few days ago, I rediscovered the L'Homme Idéal fragrances by Guerlain and wanted to try some of the new scents. After I recently described the L'Homme Idéal Intense, today it's the turn of the Sport Edition.

And yes, I know that most sports fragrances don't have a very good reputation here, apart from Chanel Allure Homme Sport, which many people still think is absolutely brilliant and still think that this fragrance would make the ladies' panties fall down in rows... which of course I have NEVER experienced, !!!!!!) *sigh*

Maaaaan, that kind of thing just takes you down so much that you don't feel like commenting, especially now that spring is just around the corner! So now only the short version of a comment is shown:

Scent: Good.
Sillage and shelf life: Okay.
Flacon: Nice.

Well, that's that, and I wish you all a very pleasant evening and... hey hey, I don't think you'd like a commie like that too much, would you? :D
All right, then I will enumerate a few details... :D

Of course, there's a nice sweetness here, too, which, as with most Idéal fragrances, is reminiscent of tonka bean, but I'd say that, especially at the beginning, you hardly notice the DNA of Idéal fragrances here. But never mind, because it smells really nice at the beginning, even if, as with the Intense fragrance recently, there should be a clearly noticeable mainstream aura, which means that the fragrance doesn't stand out much from other mainstream scents. However, this synthetic is not really disturbing, even if the heart note should become a little stronger from time to time. Also in the heart note, the citric scents become a bit weaker, otherwise it remains as usual.
A little later the synthetic goes down a bit, especially when the tonka bean-like sweetness reappears and you can even smell some neroli again. So it remains mostly in the base until the end, so that I find the fragrance quite well done.

The silage and the durability:*
Despite its warm sweetness, this scent is significantly weaker than the other Idéal scents, but that's how it should be, since the fragrance has been made fresher. On longer distances and in the long run this scent will not be noticeable. The shelf life is also noticeably shorter, as you can no longer smell the fragrance so well on the skin after just five hours.

I therefore think that this L'Homme Idéal is also worth a test, even if this is perhaps not really a must. Like most sports versions, this scent is more suitable for wearing on hot days than actually doing sports with the scent and then sweating and hoping that under all the sweat you will hopefully smell the scent more than the sweat... igitt :DD
I mean, I hope you all know that you should NEVER cover bad smells with deodorants or perfumes! After all, we no longer live in the France of 200 years ago, where whitewashing was commonplace, especially among the nobility :D
On the other hand there are surely enough dirty fellows among you... but that is a different topic here :D

Hello, together,

this is my first comment on Parfumo and I have a good reason for it, because I have to come out here as an absolute fan of this fragrance, which in my opinion doesn't deserve the mediocre to bad feedback it gets in any way. But tastes are different and that's a good thing.

What makes this fragrance for me the favourite of the L'Homme Ideal series?

Without a doubt, the fragrance starts with a strong aquatic note. However, I never have this typical aftershave feeling, because the cool, aquatic note is accompanied by a subtle spice and sweetness. The scent radiates coolness and cleanliness, but at the same time conveys a certain warmth and a feeling of cosiness, as one knows it from a round around the campfire or fireplace.

The sweetness, however, is so discreet and combines so perfectly with the spicy notes that it seems to me as if something mystical is hidden behind the clean man, something mysterious, which, although constantly shining through, does not try to impair the superficial freshness of the fragrance.

Indeed, the background chords of almonds and spices remind me of a medieval Christmas market, surrounded by spice stands and gingerbread sellers. For this very reason, L'Homme Ideal Sport is an absolute winter fragrance for me. With this assessment I am certainly alone on the long corridor, but I can also understand anyone who sees this fragrance as pure summer fragrance, because in my opinion it perfectly combines two opposites, namely cold and warmth, ice and fire.

Depending on personality and preference, one perceives either side more strongly. For me it is the warmth that awakens winter feelings in me.

When I smell the scent, I feel like on an ice-cold winter morning / evening. I leave the house, feel the biting cold on my face. The crystal-clear, icy aquatic chords contribute to this. But almonds, patchouli and spices don't let the cold harm me, because I'm warmly wrapped in my thick winter jacket. I breathe deeply through my nose and smell the fresh winter air. There's snow everywhere. I start my walk in this soundproofed atmosphere of the snow. On the horizon I see the factory buildings and the city as they shine. The fresh notes give me the feeling of something urban, industrial, but still not the big city feeling that Creed Aventus, for example, evokes in me.

After some time I am already looking forward to my warm home. The warm tones already shine through more strongly and show me the way. Arrived at home I take a dreamlike skin scent that makes me recapitulate the experience and dream.

L'Homme Ideal Sport evokes so many emotions and ideas in me as not many others in my fragrance collection. Even if, for example, I consider Tom Ford's Noir Extreme to be a "higher quality" composition and this fragrance accompanies me constantly through the winter, it does not trigger in me the fullness of associations, like L'Homme Ideal Sport.

So, contrary to popular opinion, a 10/10.

Here Guerlain really hit the mark with me :)

i actually find it really nice - its a very refined and elegant blue scent with slight sweet almond and soapy neroli nouances.

Almost unrelated to the original L'Homme Ideal. It's more like the smell of a plain shower gel. L'Homme Ideal Cologne is much better.

Take the original and add a citrusy, fresh top. Deceptively unique for a "sport" release. Very nice!

Fresh but generic sport scent, maybe a tad better with the balanced sweet neroli. I Believe a bit boring might be the words I'd use.
