Cleopatra Tocca 2007 Eau de Parfum

My first encounter with Tocca CLEOPATRA (from a cute 7ml mini of which 5ml remain...) was fairly positive, and I ended up acquiring another small (15ml) bottle as a result. The bottles are so adorable that I don't really mind that they'll probably never run dry. What has happened since my initial testing is that I have come to regard this fragrance as a close olfactory neighbor to NARCISO RODRIGUEZ for her and Sarah Jessica Parker LOVELY, in addition to D&G Anthology LA ROUE DE LA FORTUNE.

The key connection to my nose: slightly sweaty musk combined with a fairly hefty dose of patchouli. The musk in this composition lies just over the clean/sweaty line. I love clean musk compositions, in general, but this one is situated about a nanometer over the too sweaty line for me. Although it's not impossible for me to wear this perfume, and in certain moods, particularly on very humid days, I even sort of like it, after several wearings it has become abundantly clear that these small bottles will in all likelihood suffice for this lifetime.

I'm fairly sure that anyone who likes NR for her and LOVELY would like this perfume as well. CLEOPATRA is much more about musk and patchouli than anything else, so anyone who loves those two notes may well welcome this creation with flaring nostrils. On the other hand, anyone who eschews those notes will not be happy with this perfume. On my skin, this edp projects quite a lot and has excellent longevity. I guess that this means that I number among those lucky sniffers who are not anosmic to musk—at least not the one(s) featured here!

This starts as a big floral fragrance, then a creepy fruit, and then the fruit rots.
Like a romance.
A man brings you a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
Then you go to the market with your new husband and buy fruit together.
The fruit sits out and rots.
Then a big sweaty man/husband brings out the garbage after it has been sitting there for days.
Ends up smelling like a mix of Armani Code and Cigarettes.

In one way "Cleopatra" suits really good to the last pharaoh of Ancient Egypt.
This scent is a confident,mature and powerful fragrance
which would be a great scent for a monarch.
In the other way i thought it would be a sweet/spicy oriantal creamy scent.
But Tocca highlighted the features and abilities of this strong woman and her Empire.
The opening is really fruity and fresh which reminds me at the sunrise,guarded by the Sun God "Ra".
Then i smell a lot of patchouli, which i like a lot, it's really woody but not overwhelming,the flowers and the vanilla soften the dominant notes. This Perfume reflect the beauty of Cleopatra with the floral notes and the vanilla, it shows her strong character with the dominant woody/patchouli notes and presented her sunny Empire with fresh and fruity notes. This scent is really similar to "Juilette has a Gun-Lady Vengeance" if you like the scent you can't go wrong with this scent.
This is my favorite scent from Tocca i like it a lot.

This reminds me of Egyptian musk a lot. It has a musky, lightly powdery patchouli base and funky little fruity notes. The grapefruit is very prominent when first spritzed but unfortunately dissipates quickly. The musk/patchouli aspect is nice, but i don't know that I want to wear it as it is kind of dated and I prefer something lighter

Ordinarily, I'm not a big fan of musk-heavy scents or patchouli notes. This fragrance is an outlier in my collection because of that. And I don't reach for it often, but when I do, I'm reminded how unique it is. At first, this one just feels like *a lot* to me with the zing of grapefruit and the tuberose and the patchouli. But after developing for a bit (and this does last a long time), it becomes more...bearable?

It doesn't necessarily feel like me, but maybe like an aspirational version of me who's more mysterious and entrancing and sensual, who burns incense and has messy-but-chic hair. It has some maturity to it, but it's too juicy to be an "old lady" scent.

This is the best-performing Tocca I have. I have a dropper bottle and one drop is more than enough for the intimate-to-moderate sillage I prefer.

The notes themselves are too heavy for daily or business wear (at least in my book), but I don't mind this for the occasional date.
