A true classic at the cutting edge
A good 10 years ago, I had 2 bottles of Oud Wood and then embarked on the Parfumo journeys with increasing passion. On the way to new shores, I tried hundreds of fragrances and bought dozens. At the same time, I followed the occasional bad review about the TF Oud Wood's decreasing longevity and sillage and no longer felt the urge to buy it. A few days ago, rather out of boredom, I sprayed the fragrance on in a perfumery. Unexpectedly, this feeling of quality and class took hold of me again; the fragrance "tightens your posture" and without slightly better clothes you immediately feel a little underdressed. In my fragrance memory, there is a strong association between Tom Ford and a well-fitting suit. The fragrance is an excellent woody blend, aromatic, ambery with a slight sweetness and in the drydown it is rounded off with a subtle vanilla. I perceive fine cardamom in the top note; I do not perceive oud in this fragrance. TF Oud Wood is a first-class choice for business in particular, as it radiates restraint and is an "all-rounder" for meetings. For me, next to Noir de Noir, it is my TF favorite.
