There is a perfume addicted and fragrance lover mate on Instagram that I follow. He recently posted a photo of Tonino Lamborghini Invincible with a short review, hinting at the similarity with Creed's niche king Aventus and rating this as one of the best imitations of the well-known perfume. One might be tempted to link the adjective Invincibile (e.g., Invincible) with Invictus; the name is slightly misleading. However, Invincibile and Invictus are two worlds apart. Honestly, I haven't tested the original Aventus yet. Still, I own some copies like Zara Vibrant Leather and Reyane Tradition Insurrection II Pure, so I can say I know the actual offers' vibes and feel. Invincibile was a pleasant discovery. Still, all three are unique to own them at the same time. They're entirely different fragrances.
The fact is, I was in a warehouse of household and personal cleaning products, and I saw this perfume on the shelf at an almost ridiculous price for 75ml. I immediately put it in the cart, and as soon as I left the shop, I sprayed it directly on my skin. If there was a word to describe this perfume, it would be artistic.. It is that nice, and here's what I felt.
First things first, the bottle is everything but coarse. It comprises transparent glass, topped with a black plastic border, and has the iconic Lamborghini brand engraved: the Miura bull. It replicates the same icon within a red shield on the top of the silver cap. The cologne smells like a masterpiece, and it features sour pineapple, smoky birch, and mineral musk. It is very fresh and oozes virility and poshness. The initial blast is all too bright, citrusy, sparkling, fruity, and lemony about the cologne. I get a full, zesty accord from bergamot and perhaps other citrus fruit not listed that gorgeously blend with the more green and sour pineapple, whereas both the apple and the black currant do not rise high or get too loud; they are just a splash and almost stay in the back. If you are anything like me, you will immediately catch the resemblance with the inflated Creed's Aventus, the smokier batch.
The dream goes on with a heart of tar and smoky birch, modern patchouli, sheer rose, and bright jasmine. Well, I cherish the way they design the heart as it has a fascinating contrast between the vigorous notes of birch and patchouli and the more sophisticated notes of rose and jasmine. The birch note adds to a woody, almost freshly made smell. Create a delicate balance between sweet pineapple and little smokey wood scent. The lemony aroma is still lingering, the outcome is attractive, and I can't take my nose off of the sprayer and clothes where I spritzed some, that makes me go wild. The middle stage is soft suede, all too leathery and floral.
After this progression of notes so contrasting with each other, the fragrance reveals a very macho and somewhat animal base composed of musk, oakmoss, ambergris, and vanilla. It might seem not reassuring to people who don't like animal scents, but better be transparent and honest. There is plenty of muskiness in there, and just a hint of vanillic vibe. Do not expect a creamy and powdery trail; instead, an earthy and mossy tone intertwined with modern salty ambroxan surrounds you.
Now some sprays further, I can say that I enjoy this fragrance quite a lot. The scent itself will transform somewhat while wearing it. In the first hour, you will get a central note of pineapple. Later, dries down to a more woody and fumy base; you will still smell the pineapple but not so outstanding. I guess that the very prominent birch note that plays in the fragrance's heart is the backbone. It gives a very earthy and manly feel to the scent, making the name suit the frag even better! It does not smell synthetic at all, and you get compliments; it has a very smoky vibe to it. I could say it is like Creed's Aventus, not as loud as if you enter a room; Invincibile does not bless everyone with its divine presence. It is a less intrusive but delightful way and stays closer to the skin, although the longevity is average. Suitable for warm and hot seasons, I would not wear it during too cold days. Anytime and anyplace are fine, and even during workout and sports if you dare. I would say it's a perfect scent for special occasions, like dates, going out, or events.
Ultimately, you balance having a brilliant, cheapy fragrance; however, it's not as rare as it once was. There was that, "Hey, what are you wearing?" moment, now replaced with "Are you wearing Aventus, aren't you?"
This review bases upon a 75 ml (2.5 fl. oz) I own since Aug 2020.
