Stuffy rose, big 90s fruit, mint & honey... Whoa!

This is the first Vero Kern scent I have ever tried, so I didn't know what to expect. The notes sounded nice, but I was a little afraid of the honey, which sometimes turns too dirty and unpleasant on my skin.

Well, the honey in here is harmless. It's warm, it's sweet, it's thick, it starts gooey and ends waxy, but it's not dirty at all. I like it. The overall scent feels stuffy to me though. It opens up with super soapy, old-school rose and lilac, which I find a bit overwhelming here. Additionally I smell a discordant mint note in the opening, I don't know what to make of that. Peach and passion fruit are noticeable, too, and they're done in a 90s way, which I generally enjoy. Not thin and sour, but really ripe. They still have trouble to stand up to the bombastic soapy rose though. Only as the scent dries down, the fruits and honey become equals to the flowers and the stuffiness of the opening slowly dies down. The scent becomes quite powdery at this point. It has a sweetness to it, but it's very different from the usual sweet florals of the last decades.

I wouldn't want to smell like this. Soapy roses are my least favorite roses and I'm not that much into perfumes that emulate a vintage feeling. But I also can't say that I dislike Rozy, it was interesting to try it out.
