Alice in Wonderland
The tricksters from the fragrance pyramid award givers have definitely let something slip under the table...the semolina pudding! And I actually like it so much; I found it to be quite pleasant and cozy-gourmand with Traversée du Bosphore. At first, you wouldn't suspect anything, as the top note and parts of the heart note are very similar to Alice's sister Naughty. But where Naughty hits a violet with the violet, Cheeky is significantly more digestible. The similarity to the locum-laden treat from L'Artisan is unmistakable! Great, because I had wanted that one for a long time, but no one wanted to gift it to me. Now, I received Cheeky as a gift for my ...ahem..40th birthday, which was also on my wish list, since I am a Westwood fan and have a favorable attitude towards her fragrance creations. And - voila! - two birds with one stone! The fresh green-floral opening transforms into a light-milky dessert, making the purchase of Traversée du Bosphore unnecessary. Now I am curious about Alice, the third one...Flirty! Can she keep up with her sisters?

sassy moth
Today I spent time with my friend in the perfume store, and we kept passing around "Naughty" and "Cheeky" Alice.

And we never grew tired of the game, as we both found the scents very appealing.

Our characters are not characterized by decisiveness, and I missed my husband, who would have long since put his foot down.
On the other hand, my friend and I have a similar pace, which allows us to get along well.
We both do not tend to impatience.

Finally, I took my Langenscheidt in my head for help and translated "Cheeky" as "forward" and "Naughty" as "cheeky".

That was a good guideline, as I can be a bit forward at times - cheekiness is not in my nature.

"Cheeky" feels a bit softer to me - yet it is somehow sassy.
My mom used to call me "sassy moth" when I was cheeky.

And the lily of the valley peeks cheekily out from the scent, winking at me.
This note is lovely, but not demure.
The peony stands out plump, and the rose has a slightly citrusy tea rose character.
Up to this point, Cheeky is very light-footed.
But then it gains a surprising depth through the noble wood note.
A very positively tuned, versatile scent.
The warmth in the dry down convinced me, and Cheeky found its way into my bag.

The "naughty" sister had to take a back seat today, but she'll get another chance next time.

The Baroque Garden or the Art of Capturing the Scent of Flowers
Vivienne Westwood (an Englishwoman, by the way) has come up with something truly "quirky." The fragrance starts off really green with a vast meadow full of lily of the valley, damp and shady under thick trees. This lily of the valley meadow is set before an English Baroque garden, like one that some lords or even the Windsors might have created. "Cheeky Alice" has indeed brought along peonies and roses in abundance. Laid out in geometric patterns, surrounded by neatly trimmed boxwood and yew hedges. The rose and peony plantings display a great array of colors and compete in fragrance, with the peony usually having a nose-length lead over the rose. Yet everything is well-ordered and allows for no "wild growth." Until the woods come in, "Cheeky Alice" is purely floral, but with its olfactory support, it seems as if the Baroque garden is bordered by a forest in the background. Its scents blend with those of the garden, giving Westwood's Eau de Parfum an unexpected transformation in depth and expression. A subtle powderiness also lingers over the whole. I don't know who the perfumer was, but one thing is certain: he or she has succeeded in creating an atmosphere with relatively few fragrance components. In terms of perfume, the relatively natural-looking floral scent is convincingly supported by a similar woodiness in the base of the fragrance. I personally wear Cheeky Alice only rarely, and when I do, it's in spring and summer. Despite its excellent quality, it is a bit too "floral" for me. My 20-year-old niece likes to use it when she visits me. It suits her very well. However, for me personally, it is not a candidate for repurchase.

Reserved Instead of Brash
~ Inspiration ~
"Cheeky Alice" by Vivianne Westwood made it onto my wishlist after I tested "Naughty Alice." I received a sample from the lovely Sabi.

~ Bottle ~
The bottle already reveals the "Alice" line. Here, a red leather ribbon with a heart and the typical emblem has been added. The name "Cheeky - Brash" doesn't really fit the sweet character of the fragrance, which is a bit misleading.

~ Scent ~
It starts fresh (a bit green) and floral with lily of the valley and (peony) roses. Gradually, it becomes sweeter, powdery, and finishes softly and creamy with woods and musk.

~ Longevity ~
On my skin, it lasts about 6 hours (a bit longer on clothing and hair). You can easily use several sprays without feeling overloaded.

~ Occasion ~
It fits well for the mild and warmer days and evenings in spring, summer, and autumn (also suitable for the office).

~ Conclusion ~
I am pleasantly surprised here too :) A delicate, floral-creamy, unobtrusive fragrance!

Meaningless Fruity Floral
At the beginning of March 2012, I read a laudatory article about Vivian Westwood in the "Independent." Her fashion collection is said to be very convincing. For the final show, she chose a dress printed with banknotes to criticize the banking system (Vivian Westwood goes Occupy?). Why am I telling you this? To express my disappointment with the fragrance "Cheeky Alice," which becomes even greater against the backdrop just outlined. "Cheeky Alice" is an olfactory lightweight, a completely meaningless scent that does not fit a designer of her stature. Who advises V.W. on these matters? Or has she simply sold her name and lost control over the perfumes? I am puzzled by the discrepancy between Westwood's fashion, her political statements, and these girlishly harmless scents.

Rosy-creamy-fresh. Not extravagant, but sometimes just right!

A thoroughly floral scent, with a slight powdery note.
It exudes a certain lightness, in my opinion.

Powdery sweet-fresh, light and wearable, refreshing in summer... no trace of lily of the valley on me...

First lightly sweet, somewhat lovely, powdery with a fine bitter note, sillage is great and lasts a long time. It's such a shame it was discontinued.
