A spicy Coca-Cola scent
If anyone is interested in this, Renoir offers travel sprays on their website so you can test their scents before investing in a full bottle. I’d definitely recommend this, as the scent is an acquired taste. They don’t send a tester with purchases of full bottles either (as advertised by some influencers) Renoir also don’t reply to emails, but they do reply relatively quickly on Instagram. You won’t get any email confirmation and you will also have to ask for the tracking number.

This opens with a very realistic, fizzy, fun Coca-Cola which I absolutely love! It’s delicious! When I first got this I wasn’t impressed with the dry down, which lost its Coca Cola note and became quite a spicy masculine scent. I left my bottle to sit for a month and the dry down has improved greatly. It’s much more balanced than it was when it arrived. This is definitely a unisex scent, but I’m pleased to say the Coca Cola note remains throughout! Very unique! Although it does remind me a bit of Rouge Smoking by BDK, which is one of my favourites.

Black Death Pod of Temptation
Is there vanilla in hell?
If so, then it’s served cold, like a stirring stick in a Coke.

With "Vanille Diabolique | Renoir," I feel like I've seen everything that can be done with vanilla. From classic to modern.
This one? Out there.
Totally unconventional, almost artisanal and artistic. An Enigma pour Homme Parfum with more pronounced performance and a slightly over-the-top top note.
Although it’s not that over-the-top, it does give a brief flash of the DNA stars that hint at what lies within this fragrance. Citrusy, almost piercingly fizzy. A slight sweetness, spiced vanilla, and then cinnamon with cardamom.

From the very beginning, the cola wants to jump in my face, splashing around, almost ginger-like. It crackles on the skin and in the nose, even though the vanilla is already sneaking in the background, releasing a hefty cloud. Not the kind that leans towards baking aroma, but with the cola, it feels substantial, almost like smeared vanilla pulp on the neck. Wow, here we go. A cocktail for the whole bar.

Alcohol is poured, spice is distributed. Everyone gets to sniff, everyone gets to lick. Chewed cardamom pods, cinnamon sticks as stirring sticks and straws. It keeps crackling, the refreshment hasn’t faded yet.
Then it’s actually there, this vanilla of hell. Warm, soft, familiar yet new. Somewhat unspectacular, yet still pleasantly fragrant. Supported by warm resinous notes and still a certain spiciness.

But somehow, I feel like something is missing. "Vanilla Diorama | Dior," a similar composition, is executed much better and I prefer its French style significantly. The balance of the DNA was more convincing there, and especially, the vanilla-orange combination was much more beautiful in the nose.

This cola breeze is somewhat bothersome in the long run and obscures some nuances of the fragrance. Especially, the cloud of sillage feels different from the perceived notes of the wearer. My wife almost gasped from the hidden vanilla in the top note.

Good attempt, though.

A very well-balanced, sweet Cuba Libre
After seeing this fragrance listed among the top 5 chocolate scents of the last decade in a ranking (ahead of TF Noir extreme and CD Fève Délicieuse), I absolutely had to try it. And so it became a blind buy. When the package arrived, I opened it right away and sprayed it on my hand. The top note matches the description perfectly. The cola and orange note initially come across as slightly alcoholic (and really accompanied by pink pepper). The rum makes an appearance after about 20 minutes. After about 1 hour, the sweetness emerges, and there it is: a perfectly mixed delicious Cuba Libre cocktail with chocolate and vanilla in the background. Overall, a very balanced and pleasant fragrance. I would describe it as a more affordable alternative to Roja Enigma.

Me and the Devil….or simply devilishly good….
When thinking of Bulgaria in the perfumed realm of our lives, one immediately thinks of the "Bulgarian Rose"….and what else? No, there isn’t much - at least not that comes to my mind. Even on Parfumo, the Balkan state (olfactorily) leads a rather unnoticed existence. And when I once sniffed a fragrance called "Insomnia | Faviol Seferi Fragrance," I didn’t know at that time that it came from a Bulgarian brand.
The beauty of our little live Parfumo gatherings is that someone always brings something that one hasn’t encountered yet and leaves a lasting impression. It was the same when a Bulgarian Parfumo brought this fragrance to one of those meetings (a big shoutout to Alex)…
"Vanille Diabolique | Renoir" …immediately caught my nose and thus became an absolute "Must Have" (I apologize for this cliché). But it holds true here! The fact that I bought this fragrance ONLINE already proves that, even though I usually strictly refuse to do so. The thing is simply nowhere - outside of Bulgaria - to be found. The brand Renoir sounds French, but it comes from Shumen/Bulgaria and has only released 2 fragrances so far.
But what was it that captivated us with this little potion? Somehow we know everything here already…but somehow everything is also quite different. Cola/Orange opens briefly before immediately leading into a mix of cardamom, cinnamon, and vanilla. Something peppery peeks around the corner (that must be the namesake "Diablo")…and yet sandalwood performs - silky smooth and passive. No sweet gourmand club with sticky fingers…rather a little vanilla crescent for those delightful moments by the fireplace. It is noteworthy that it radiates a slight freshness until the sweet end after about 8 hours.
Conclusion: One of my few online purchases where I can say without a guilty conscience: Devilishly Brilliant!

A beautiful Bulgarian niche variant of Enigma
Vanille Diabolique really appeals to me. I do not regret the purchase, and I have a rare little treasure at home in my closet.

The scent starts off directly with this cola vibe, which is refined with a bit of vanilla. There’s also this delicious orange that is quite active right at the opening.
Additionally, this fragrance also possesses a sweet, spicy oriental flair right from the start.

As time goes on, cinnamon notes come into play, along with a wonderful touch of cardamom. The orange is still present but is gradually retreating.
The vanilla cola vibe, however, remains fully active.

The vanilla also unfolds more and more over time.
It becomes a big vanilla ball, which in my opinion has nothing much to do with vanilla desserts. Of course, the vanilla is sweet, but it also comes across as slightly "dry".
I really like that a lot.

Moreover, the fragrance definitely has woody undertones. The sandalwood becomes noticeable over time and also intensifies.
It brings this creamy-woody characteristic with it.

Honestly, the fragrance does not really resonate well with women in my environment.
I absolutely cannot understand that. I find this DNA really wonderful, and one might think it would also be well-received by women.
Somehow, that is not the case.
At least, those are my experiences.

All in all, a truly great fragrance that I believe is unisex and also has quite good performance.

Deliciously spiced rum and cola cloud with atomic strength and sillage. Sounds warm and vanilla-like. Way too strong for me, but the cola is good!

It's actually quite nice, but it lacks that special something. A light cola note at the beginning, almost gone in the dry down, leaving just vanilla.

Reminds me of a Calippo Cola ice pop, very synthetic. The cola fades quickly, and what's left is a dull vanilla. Not for me.
