Alex, the elegant one.

Most people who are more intensively involved with the subject of perfume or who hang around here on the platform have already had Alexandria II by Xerjoff under their noses or have at least heard of it or read about it. I first came into contact with the fragrance a good year ago. After all the positive reports I had read and heard, I finally ordered a bottling and entered the €/ml price range, from which I had previously always kept my distance.

The bottle arrived, was fished out of the letterbox full of anticipation in the evening after work and unpacked. i applied 2 sprays to my wrist. What can I say... At first I was a little disillusioned. The first thing that hit me was a heavy load of a medicinal oud note, which reminded me of an old dentist's surgery with heavy, rustic, wooden filing cabinets. This is supposed to be Alexandria 2 ?! The big one everyone is talking about? All right, I thought. Let's see what happens. I threw myself down on the couch to read and after about half an hour I noticed a cloud of scent that kept rising into my nose and had an almost elegant and beguiling effect on me. I brought my wrist to my nose and the old dentist's surgery was transformed into a rose garden with apple trees and cinnamon trickling from the sky. Vanilla sticks dance arm in arm with amber and creamy musk plays a subliminal role.

Dr.Oud never disappears completely, but fades away, resonates for hours and rounds off the whole thing perfectly.

So there it is, the fragrance that is being talked about so much and now I can sing its praises at the top of my voice! I literally had my nose glued to my wrist for the rest of the evening and the fragrance developed associations of complete elegance and grandeur in me. As I tend to be a light sleeper, I was repeatedly surprised by the beguiling scent even during the night.

For me, this fragrance is definitely not Alex the Great but Alex the Elegant. The longevity is absolutely sufficient and lasts 10+ hours on my skin, days on clothes. I find the sillage strong but not overpowering. Rather elegant and sensual without being annoying. There is also nothing to complain about in terms of quality.

There's not too much to say about the bottle, which has now moved into my home.
Typical Xerjoff and very attractive in my opinion.

The bottom line is that Alexandria 2 is a fragrance that for me embodies elegance and grandeur combined with understatement, as it is never too intrusive or even annoying despite its opulence.
