“Mr. Wollny, let’s get straight to the point. I can probably get you out of here, but it will take a few days. I need to bribe some people, indulge myself several times in bars at the expense of your club’s funds, and with Hotte for the horse bets. Now I’ve heard that your brother has been unsuccessfully claiming leadership of your gang because you are still alive. For this reason, a hitman has been infiltrated here. So be on your guard!”
“Okay, how do I recognize him?”

“Oh come on, I have Minuit Celeste on, I don’t need a shower!”
Bastian had had enough and swore to intercept Wolle tomorrow.

Next day, yard time, Bastian Brecher Buxbaum intercepted Wolle: “Well, well, Wolle all alone and... completely plastered?”
“My bikers throw a few bottles of life elixir over every day.”
“Okay, but glass bottles?”
“Still in the optimization phase.”
“Whatever, your brother Pelé hired me, say goodbye to the world.”
“Adi-what? And why do you smell like the latrine after pea soup?”
“That’s my new scent, Oud Burmi, I was told it smells animalistic.”
“More like the droppings of animal creatures.”
“You, on the other hand, smell interesting, what is that?”

So he put on Minuit Celeste and that’s when Bastian realized what the leathery-biting scent was earlier and where it originated. “Wolle, this smells intensely fruity and bitter at the same time, almost artificial. What is it supposed to be?”
“Surely the tuberose mixed with something, I’ve smelled that before.”
“Smells like a kind of apple brandy, that’s why you have it on, right?”
“My Bois Fou from the same house ran out, it smells similar, has apple tree wood in the notes. It also has an air accord in it, like this one does. Maybe blown over?”
“Wolle, I’m no expert except when it comes to national team games, but is that possible?”
“Well, back when I worked at Dior, something similar happened. Something kept falling into Fahrenheit, which is why there are so many mediocre flankers. Anyway, Minuit Celeste is somewhat piercing.”

They took their time evaluating, the bikers threw another 20L barrel over the wall and let the scent work, unfold.
“Isn’t that your lawyer, Cravache? There in handcuffs?”
“Sorry, Mr. Wollny, little dispute in the harbor pub, looks like I’ll be stuck here longer than you. Do you know a good lawyer?”
“Never again eBay classifieds...,” grumbled Wolle.
After about an hour, the leather set in.
“It doesn’t seem soft to me, rather brutal and, with the air accord, aggressively and sweetly biting. Or is that the tuberose?”
“For me, you only reach it after several hours. But by now it’s so distorted that I don’t enjoy the scent anymore. The notes don’t harmonize.”
“True, Wolle. Shall we have a drink and get out of this jail? The barrel is empty.”
“But how? Is there a trick with the laundry?”

“Yes.”
“They lost the key, it’s always open. We can just get out.”
“Then let’s go, today’s scent didn’t blow me away but it’s better than your Oud Burmi.”

Minuit Celeste resembles Slow Explosions by IA and Bois Fou from the same house despite different notes. The leather serves more as a foundation, with various scent components taking place on the leather. On one hand, it’s the tuberose that appears very bitter and lush here, on the other hand, the leather merges with the air accord. I find this unpleasant, as Minuit Celeste tends to lean towards a somewhat cheap-synthetic direction. Overall, weak for the money.
