The end of a long journey

I have been looking for THE sandalwood scent for quite some time. And now I hold the "Holy Grail" of sandalwood scents in my hands, so to speak. I have to thank the perfume and of course a friendly member of this great community from whom I was allowed to buy a small bottling. At the first test, this fragrance captivated me. In my mind's eye I saw a distinguished gentleman in an elegant single-breasted suit in the middle of decadent hustle and bustle.
He radiates a calm, which makes him seem unapproachable but at the same time radiates warmth and reliability.
That's exactly what that smell is. The sandalwood is right there when you first spray it on. Without those annoying and omnipresent top notes of citrus, fruity and all kinds of other curiosities with which marketing experts try to bait the customer.
This fragrance spits honestly from the first minute. But it still has an ace up its sleeve for a later stitch, and that's this subtle leather note. Not prominent, not at all, but not always easily involved in the background. In the foreground, however, it's woody. Sandalwood, which is trimmed in the masculine direction by a hint of cedar wood. By far not like Tam Dao and also completely without this oatmeal milk aroma like in Santal Complet or Sacred Wood.
24 Rue is a fragrance of men through and through mMn. But of course everybody is allowed to wear what he/she likes. The amber in the base I don't perceive so explicitly but what I do perceive is a certain softness that the sandalwood gets without getting creamy. It remains clearly woody. Not a dark wood but rather a friendly light wood. The sillage is clear in the first hour and then retreats "gentleman like" but if you come closer than half a meter or pass by you will definitely notice it.
For me it is definitely the best sandalwood scent even if of course everything is subjective.
Anyway, I have completed part of my journey in the universe of fragrances. Everything that comes along in this direction is bonus.
