Zara Vanilla Collection 02: Affordable, Addictive, and Fleeting

Zara Vanilla Collection 02: Unique, Hypnotic, Seductive is somewhat similar to Mercedes-Benz Club Black, with its warm, bourbon vanilla base and sweet, cozy vibe. The opening is synthetic and a bit harsh, but once it settles, you're left with a smooth mix of sweet, spicy, and creamy notes that’s inviting and well-blended. It’s gourmand and slightly fruity—very appealing and easy to enjoy. While longevity is short at around 3 hours with soft projection, its very affordable price makes it easy to reapply or layer. For the cost, it’s a solid choice if you enjoy sweet, vanilla-forward scents.

Sweet Synthetic Sludge of Bourbon Vanilla and Coconut with Poor H/S - but at a Good Price

As the title aptly summarizes, this Zara from the "Vanilla Selection" is once again exactly that - another (Bourbon) vanilla fragrance with sweetened coconut and a lot of synthetic notes for under €20.

Not least because of the price, Zara's perfumes are almost always worth a blind buy. With this one, you won't be disappointed, but "Vanilla Collection 02: Unique/Hypnotic/Seductive | Zara" is already dangerously close to "no, let's skip this one..."

Immediately after spraying, you are greeted by the more robust Bourbon vanilla with a lot of coconut synthetic, sweet wood, and also a slight hint of citrus (grapefruit?).

After 20 minutes, the citrus note is gone, and the typical Zara Bourbon vanilla DNA takes over. The synthetic, sweet coconut water is not the first time you smell it in Unique/Hypnotic/Seductive at Zara.

After 1 hour: The scent intensity is already fading, as is the sillage. You can already guess: it won't achieve full sillage for 2 hours.
The scent has hardly changed: the dominant vanilla, the synthetic coconut, and a sweet, unobtrusive wood (sandalwood?) are still present.

After 2.5 hours: The perfume has reached its peak. There’s nothing more to come. The drydown has been very straightforward, very unremarkable and boring. It is now only perceptible close to the skin, has "couch potential".

4 hours - End: Bourbon vanilla, synthetic coconut, and the sweetness gradually become weaker.
Even though it is still pleasantly noticeable on the skin after 10 hours, I still rate its longevity as only mediocre, because "just being on the skin" is something anyone can do.

Conclusion:
Another vanilla-coconut cheapie from Zara, which goes for €18 (as of 04.02.2025). One of the few times I would also say: "Yes, it's worth that at most." because you really have to like this sweet vanilla-coconut sludge. The environment will too, because presumably, with that price and the knowledge that the longevity is rather poor, one will spray more generously. However, that could annoy yourself and others nearby, as it can definitely become overwhelming if overdone - negatively.

Unisex? Yes, but with limitations or a clear leaning towards the feminine.
Can be a daily scent in the cold winter, but I see it more for winter leisure/evening, although it is not intended for special evenings/occasions.

Bartender, a Pina Colada please!

Smells like Pina Colada mixed with powdery vanilla. The pineapple smells ripe, you can almost taste it. However, I wouldn't classify it as a pure summer fragrance, as the vanilla integrates excellently and thus also fits into the cooler season. I am really impressed with the series 01 & 02. Zara has released something great for such a price.

Longevity is average at 6 hours. I rate the longevity of my fragrances as follows: 1 hour = 1 longevity. Sillage is also quite okay.

Conclusion: Also suitable for non-drinkers.
