N°08 Bohemian Bluebells Zara 2019

It smelt very strange the first time and on the test strip. Blind buy in 10ml as i love lavender. If you get over the sharp, herbacious beginning it becomes wonderful and has really grown on me, especially with the spring sunshine at the moment. This is not winter parfum for me. It becomes very creamy, powdery, I can detect honey as well. I suppose the Sandelwood adds the creamyness, but it just has a warm, sweet feel about it in a flowery sort of way. Definately try before you buy, as many seem to dislike the scent. Personally I love it! As to the name of the scent? It has no resemblance to bluebells.

Got this in a small discovery set so I’ve just been testing it from the small vials that come in the set.

This one is super weird. It starts off with a very herbaceous and astringent lavender scent in the opening but as soon as it dries down it turns into a powdery sweet scent. I personally did not detect much lavender anymore; I mostly got notes of a soft floral powdery scent. It reminded me of the scents my grandma liked which was confronting but not exactly a scent I would reach for day to day.

Overall it’s not bad. It was a fresh powdery sweet scent, great for a spring day. Just not for me.

Those who love lavender will find joy here - but only if they are willing to get up close. This composition launches with a strong lavender presence, yet remains on the skin like a whisper: present, but very restrained.

The lavender is uncompromisingly at the center, unembellished, herbal, and almost medicinal. Other notes barely make an appearance, giving the whole a clear, minimalist direction.

Projection and sillage linger in the background - almost intimate. Those expecting a bold fragrance may be disappointed. However, for all who enjoy pure lavender and like to keep it close, it is worth a test.

I had applied it several times already (I have the 10ml, with roller -.-) and could never place it. Somehow I always had berries in mind - but I was never clever enough to check what was in it. So I kept testing, forgetting, testing, undecided. And just now I wanted to add it to my declutter list and stumbled upon the fragrance notes for the first time. And when I read "lavender," I got really excited. I am an extreme lavender lover. I can't walk past any lavender bush without stopping to smell it, rubbing a few blossoms between my fingers, and happily moving on.
So, I pulled out Bohemian Bluebells again and applied it.
First, a lot of alcohol, and then...
What an explosion of lavender! Beautiful, authentic lavender. So piercing, as a large bush sometimes gives off. But the lavender soon becomes creamier, more subdued - almost soft.
There was a comparison made with cough drops. I understand what is meant, but I like it.

I love lavender for going to sleep. I often spray lavender essences on my pillow - it calms and makes me sleepy.
"Zara Emotions N°08 - Bohemian Bluebells | Zara" will definitely be tested there - after I transfer it to another bottle. Because I've never been a fan of rollers and I won't become one. I wish Zara would just use simple sprayers.
However, I think it's great that you can also get the perfumes in 10ml.
Sillage isn't strong, my husband is sitting next to me and I don't think he even notices the scent.
Longevity is about 3-4 hours. After that, the last hour is only close to the skin. I would say after 5 hours it's hardly noticeable anymore.
But it's inexpensive and you can easily reapply.

Conclusion: I wanted to declutter it at first but now I urgently need to keep it.

Addendum: I believe that my perception at the beginning was significantly influenced by the fact that I always applied it on the back of my hand. Just now, for the first time, I applied it in the crease of my arm. The warmth makes a big difference. It smells completely different than in the first tests (it was also very cold before. Today it is quite warm).

Currently, I am testing one or another Zara fragrance. Today it was the turn of Bohemian Bluebells. As a fan of lavender scents, I was very curious to see how this one would turn out.
The bottles from Zara's Emotions line are very simple and, in relation to the affordable price, they appear quite elegant to me. The perfumer of the fragrances, Jo Malone, is well-known and has created many wonderful, wearable, and authentically scented perfumes.
However, the longevity of some of the scents she has made for Zara leaves something to be desired.
About the scent: Right after spraying, I get a full blast of lavender. It smells authentic. In our area, a lot of lavender grows in the front gardens, and that’s really how it smells when the lavender is in bloom. After half an hour, a strong scent of essential oils comes into play for me. It smells like a cough drop with a lavender note. Unfortunately, I personally cannot detect the musk and sandalwood. I also can't imagine that the essential scent could arise from either of these two fragrance notes. After 2 hours, Bohemian Bluebells can only be perceived very close to the skin. It lasts longer on clothing.
For me, the scent is quite wearable because I like lavender and the perfume tends to help with headaches rather than causing them. I enjoy wearing it from time to time. However, I usually prefer to smell like perfume rather than cough drops.
