Amaretto Jazz in the Melting Room Ataraxia 2025

I originally owned Betrayal 1 from Toskovat but was very underwhelmed by it. Then I heard of Ataraxias version and how much better it was so I had to get it. Instantly you can smell the difference in quality. Ataraxias is a far more defined cherry liquor and a more rich amaretto. The dry down is beautiful with the tobacco, chocolate, and vanilla seeping through. Overall a huge improvement when compared to Toskovats.

It's a jazz bar near closing; opens with real intense alcoholic bitterness, and you can taste the yeast of the bread note. The delicious, milky chocolate and vanilla come after, still backed by the amaretto. A distinct tobacco taste is also present at the drydown; dry but slowly sweetens, still accompanied by the cocoa. One note is that the "dark cherry liquor" is barely noticable at all, which was a little disappointing.

Starts out with a gorgeous almond and bread smell along with boozy amaretto. After the initial blast honeycomb sweetness appears that then gets deepened by a smooth, wax feel like an unscented candle. In the background there’s a slight dustiness like floating remnants of ash.
Cherry liquor adds a beautiful rich sweetness to the already amazing amaretto.

For me it's winter favorite and one of the best candlewax scent.

That opening with the Amaretto/almond liquor infused sweet bread is pretty cool. Absolutely too sweet for my taste, but I can appreciate how warm and nostalgic it smells.

Having a hard time not comparing this to Deity because they both share this waxy, honeycomb accord, as well as the vanillic tobacco. However, this one so far (2h after spraying) is surely the most mass-appealing Ataraxia fragrance.

7 hours later it is still persisting. It got dustier and developed a faint cacao/chocolate backdrop.

It’s the kind of perfume I’d be glad to receive as a gift, but I don’t think it is something I would go out of my way to buy myself. Mainly because it feels kind of one-note... All the other notes are just there to support the main nutty accord.
