The Freshness
Mente froide is overall a fresh perfume. The menthe is there from the beggining, athoug to the drydown It turns sweeter and a bit more balsámic. I like the perfume although for being an extrait de parfum is a bit soft. The longevity is very good but i find It too similar to cheaper perfumes like eros by Versace so i think is the only perfume in the bijon collection that i think doesnt worth his price. The quelity is good but It is nothing special.

The Selfish Refresher
Menthe Froide is for me THE scent for temperatures above 30 degrees.
Additionally, it often helps me on a sleepy Monday morning.
Due to its presence, I always feel more awake, fresher, and more energetic.

The fragrance is characterized by an extremely dominant mint on ice, accompanied by a slightly less dominant but still very potent lavender.
With a lot of finesse, you can certainly detect a few more nuances, but these are almost completely overshadowed by the aforementioned DNA and are not worth mentioning in my opinion.

Now, while this scent refreshes me extremely and actually gives me a good feeling, especially on very hot days, my surroundings do not perceive this fragrance as so great. It is often said that one smells a bit like menthol or toothpaste, although I cannot share these opinions in the slightest.

What I must confirm, however, is that it is not the immediate olfactory experience that excites me, but this freshness that is radiated towards the wearer.

Even though some people in my circle do not like it, I often wear it in hot temperatures. As I mentioned in the title, it is indeed a selfish refresher!

The longevity of the fragrance is in the decent midfield. Although this is an Extrait de Parfum, the strongly refreshing factor fades after a good 3 hours. The sillage behaves quite similarly to the longevity.
Lavender takes over, Ambroxan joins in.

I really like the bottle. The slightly thicker glass feels nice in the hand.
It is topped off with a high-quality and quite massive cap, which fits excellently with the overall geometry of the bottle. Additionally, the cap is slightly magnetic.

All in all, a great scent that is simply essential for extremely hot days when you might also need to perform.

Masculine Mint Blend with Unsuccessful Metamorphosis
There are scents that one loves in real life but prove difficult to translate into perfumes. For me, coffee and mint clearly fall into this category. While the hot beverage is usually imitated by a malty-sweet aroma, which does not feel authentic to me, the scent of mint is unfortunately very fleeting and often evokes associations with chewing gum or toothpaste.

Menthe Froide has, in my opinion, captured the theme well and lives up to its name, as it indeed smells like an icy-fresh mint immediately after spraying, reminding me both of the natural, herbal scent and a bit of toothpaste, which does not bother me here. The citrus notes are only subtly perceptible. The sharpness at the beginning is certainly also enhanced by the pepper. The spiciness and the lavender that can be sensed in the background give Menthe Froide a distinctly masculine character, which is confirmed as it develops further.

The first approximately one and a half to two hours I really enjoy and it almost triggers a buying impulse, if the mint did not disappear afterwards and the base were not a bit too simple - unlike what the notes might suggest. For me, it is primarily clean, dry-woody, and strongly characterized by Ambroxan. However, anyone thinking of typical shower gel scents is mistaken here, as I would not describe Menthe Froide as truly aquatic. I find the absence of any sweetness very positive, as it can often destroy the fresh effect of a fragrance. A slightly smoky facet can still be filtered out, but otherwise, I miss warmth in the base.

Especially the initial, fresh-spicy blend makes Cécile Zarokian's creation an interesting and strong interpretation of mint. At high doses, the scent could therefore come across as a bit too harsh, but at lower doses, it is pleasantly herbaceous. I see it as suitable from spring to autumn, although I would prefer lighter alternatives for the height of summer.

Edit July 2020:

Now in summer, the scent feels noticeably stronger and the base is also more present. It probably requires temperatures of around 20 degrees and above. A spicy-woody accord of classic men's fragrances currently leaves me undecided, but perhaps I will eventually buy a bottle of Menthe Froide.

Fresh perfume with a sweeter dry down. Close to perfumes like eros by Versace. Menthe appears overall at the opening with generical dry down

Very fresh, pure and pleasant green/mint, the type of scent you react to with “ooo, fresh!” when passing someone wearing it.

Trapped in eternal ice: The scent takes the game of mint, lavender, and aquatic synthetic (Calone?) to the peak of the iceberg!

There’s ice-blue dew
On cream-soft meadows
Silver incense wafts
Over minty forests
In the morning moss
Crunching citrus fruits

Chilled mint-lavender combo that has lost its spirit. Just pale and green; like water from a flower vase.

The hairdresser just took a little cigarette break, is now chewing gum, and is puffing the grandma nicely with hairspray. She likes it. Not so much for me.

Fresh mint scent without any sharpness, with hesperides + cumin on a creamy-classic base. Similar to "Erolfa" but fuller + longer-lasting!
Good!

Lavender dipped in fine mint is causing a stir. Very well done & not overpowering. Highly recommendable summer scent.

Smells like a mix of "Façonnable" and hair salon Eiwasser. For my taste, too 90s, too overwhelming, and too synthetic fresh. Yuck!

Long-lasting mint meets subtle spicy notes & an unsweetened, woody base. It only reveals its full potential at 20 degrees and above.
