This is a fragrance that you have to try more than one time because it's not that simple and foolish as it sounds from the first time you wear. I did this mistake and was very grumpy the first time i reviewed it. Yes, it's modern and young and pleasant. But it's not a silly one. It's fair to say that it's not linked with Guerlain signature or traditions, so if you are that kind of Guerlain diehard fan, the chances are that you'll not like it. If not, give a try in this play of Guerlain on the Torrid Kiss. It's a gourmand, more literal and less cerebral, that tricks you into thinking "Oh, I'm just a silly fruity fragrance!". It smells like sugarish berries at the opening, but the citrus aromas cut part of the sweetness. My favorite part of this sexy fragrance is the floral heart. If you pay attention on it you'll see a very, very good orange flower on it with a sexy jasmine. They'll not always show, it's more like a hide and seek game. The orange flower has that complex and interesting aroma of sugary sweet nuances over green and slightly rubbish ones. The jasmine, while clean, has its dirtiness very subtle - this lady whisper her dark side on your ears. The base is also interesting too, because somedays it's more woody, others more musky, others more sweet and camphorated. This is a fragrance that i have wore sometimes and never got the same aroma on me, it seems to trick you, to dare you understand and goes beyond the cover, the superficial image.

Warm marshmallow message

"Boisé Torride" is an Eau de Parfum from the "Les Elixir Charnel" series .
The name is a bit misleading, since the fragrance is not very woody. It resembles a refined version of a typical "Floriental" and would certainly appeal to a much larger audience if its price was lower. 180 € for 75 ml of such a fragrance are too much. The composition dating back to 2009 cannot be called innovative, nevertheless the scent is quite appealing and above all "hot" – in the sense of "sexy". The fragrance is governed by sweet and "cosy" notes. Guerlain mentions the component "marshmallow", combined with orange blossom, jasmine, white musk and cedarwood/patchouli. The result is a sensual fragrance that points into the gourmand direction. I think I can smell some ethylmaltol here, one of the main ingredients of “Angel". As I said before, "Boisé Torride" could make a great mainstream perfume with its trendy "marshmallow-message” .

Treat me like a Lady

...seems to whisper to me directly after application. Because this fragrance is a lady's scent, which, however, does not come across as "madamish" in any way.

The opening is relatively "fresh", with bergamot and berries immediately hitting my nose. These are closely followed by a blend of jasmine and orange blossom. I also briefly notice the slightly piercing component named by Tarata. Fortunately, it doesn't last long, as all components blend together à-la-Guerlain into a truly wonderful fragrance cocktail, where you can never be quite sure what else might be included. At least, not all the fragrance notes are clear to me (and there must be more than what is indicated in the pyramid).

This scent truly enchants me, a real treat. In contrast to Tarata, it lingers on me for a very long time (I can still perceive the few drops on my hand after hours) and envelops me in this unique delicate (Guerlain scent) veil with every movement.

It’s clearly a candidate for my wish list, but this Guerlain is just a tad too feminine in its expression for me. Because what I mentioned at the beginning (Treat me like a Lady) is not a quiet request, but rather a demand.
This fragrance seems to be reserved exclusively for confident, strong, and self-assured ladies who emphasize and underline their femininity with this gourmand, and to whom one should never approach disrespectfully.

Fluffy Gourmand with Unfortunately Too Short Longevity

Immediately after application, I perceive a blend of cedar, patchouli, and jasmine, which gives the fragrance a slightly sharp edge.

Soon, however, the slightly tart yet sweet fruits push forward, and I also think I can smell a mini-marshmallow. About 3-5 minutes after application, the scent is beautifully soft, distinctly noticeable, gourmand without being overwhelming.

But after a very short time, I unfortunately only smell a hint of sweet musk, and after half an hour, the whole magic has vanished.

Boisé Torride is worth a try, as perhaps the scent, which develops for me in just a minute or two after three minutes, lasts longer for others who are more fortunate.
