Non-indolic jasmine
Jasmine is one of my favourite flowers. I find its scent intoxicatingly beautiful, especially during Spring. Jasmine based fragrances quite often lose a lot of their natural beauty during distillation, and as a result can smell quite indolic, somewhat like urine on the skin.

Jasminora is an exception. I really like this fragrance and I find it beautiful, cheerful and crisp. The jasmine accord is light, sweet and natural, further complimented by green, citrusy bergamot.

I half expected this fragrance to take on a soapy quality towards the drydown, but thankfully it remained fresh and floral. I feel pretty and content wearing Jasminora, it's like a ray of sunshine on a dark day. I think I may have found my signature fragrance for the warmer months.

I'm not usually one to delight in citrus accords, but in this particular fragrance the citrus is what makes this fragrance so enjoyable. It's also half the reason why the jasmine settles so nicely on the skin. I would describe Jasminora as a zesty floral resulting in an uplifting and bright sensation.

Other than the jasmine, lily of the valley and freesia also have big roles to play. I can certainly see why some may compare Jasminora to Diorissimo. The florals are all green in nature and somewhat dewy and fresh.

The lasting power is really good, as other reviewers have noted. In terms of sillage, I would say it's moderate, not too strong but certainly noticeable. I highly recommend.

A lovely fresh, light, airy & transparent green floral...
I am a jasmine lover. I love jasmine in all forms and perfumes. So I had to try Jasminora from Guerlain's Aqua Allegoria line. Most people think the Aqua Allegoria fragrances lack lasting power etc. But I disagree. This is a beautiful, green, natural floral that has an indolic jasmine note which can be strong if over sprayed. It's one that I enjoy very much, and it works wonderfully as a casual, happy type of fragrance.

What I get is fresh, green bergamot coupled with the Jasmine giving it a citrus, green type of smell. It's not so much a sweet jasmine more of a very natural, green floral. It's joined by freesia (giving it a light, airy feel), and by cyclamen. Drying down to clean, white musk and bitter but smooth galbanum in the base. It's a great one for the warmer months, and anytime you want to feel "picked-up". Very green, floral and easy to wear.

Sadly, like most of the Aqua Allegoria line, this one is discontinued. As a jasmine lover I wish it wasn't. But, it's the consumer that decides which fragrances stay in that line, so this one was discontinued due to lack of sales. Shame. But I recommend this one to all jasmine lovers, and I recommend the whole Aqua Allegoria line to anyone who likes green, light, transparent fragrances (especially for warm weather).

a realistic romantic jasmine
Where I grew up jasmine bushes are commonly found, and nothing is as intoxicating to me as the scent of jasmine blooming at night. I was so excited when I found Jasminora many years ago as it was the first realistic jasmine scent I had come across, something that can truly bring me back to those summer nights of my childhood.

So many jasmine perfumes have a heaviness that just doesn't feel like the real thing. I love jasmine in general but as far as a realistic green jasmine scent, this is the one I keep going back to.

A crescendo of silence. The richness of "Jasminola" melts into the twilight.
This artwork, themed around a garden at dusk, features jasmine as its main subject, as the title suggests.

The jasmine depicted here possesses a translucent quality and a quietly lingering depth of richness. The way the jasmine's velvety richness is brought out is particularly captivating.

By layering pure white florals such as lily of the valley, cyclamen, and freesia, the honey-like depth of the jasmine unfolds into a three-dimensional beauty, like the gradients spreading across the twilight sky.

The jasmine doesn't assert its strength overtly, but rather exudes a gentle yet firm presence. The other flowers add transparency and depth, creating an image of a tranquil twilight moment in a garden, where one might fondly admire the jasmine.

This artwork captures the beauty of jasmine, its lovely yet somewhat melancholic profile.

Goodbye Jasminora
Since 1999, Guerlain has been presenting new fragrances in the 'Aqua Allegoria' line every spring. New names and new scent directions conquer the market, while existing ones are taken out of the program. I recognize the necessity; otherwise, there would soon be 30 Allegorias on the shelves. I think consumers would be overwhelmed, and so would retailers. The concept of this fragrance line has never been about permanence. Initially, there were accompanying derivatives like shower gels or the truly dreamy body oil spray of 'Ylang & Vanille', but those times are long gone now.
The longevity of the Aqua Allegorias is rather fleeting, with few exceptions. A central raw material is meant to convey spontaneous freshness, carefreeness, and lightness.
In this context, 'Jasminora' was born in 2011. A bouquet of flowers, a captured bunch of spring blooms. The scent starts crisp and fresh but immediately hints at the floral direction it will take. The dominant note is the freesia. The rather unpopular lily of the valley and also the namesake jasmine play a rather insignificant role. 'Jasminora' has the gift of not simply remaining in the heart note like many predecessors but wonderfully transforms into a - allow me to use this expression once again - cozy fading note.
'Jasminora' has never had it easy among the available Allegorias. I remember a 'test' I recently conducted with friends interested in perfume. With 'Jasminora' on my neck and chest, we were to guess 'my scent' about 2 hours after application.
“….mmmh, that smells good…..it's from Guerlain…..great, but which scent is it?.....it must be one from the Maison series…..” were some of the exclamations.
With a mischievous smile, I clarified the guesses. The reactions suddenly ranged from extreme astonishment to deep dismay. No one could imagine ever wearing a spritz of 'Jasminora' at all.
With a rating of 73%, 'Jasminora' is doing quite well here at 'Parfumo' (for comparison: the top seller 'Pamplelune' scores 79%).
'Jasminora' is being sold out these days. Thus, the 28th has the shortest lifespan of all Aqua Allegorias. It's a pity, really. An unpopular one leaves the stage and makes way for 'Lys Soleia'.

Jasmine & galbanum fuel a luminous, syrupy ascent. Dries to 3D white florals & musk. Sophisticated, noble, and melancholic.

A fresh and lightly sensual embrace: the Jasmine solo is accompanied by a White flowers choir with vibrant citrusy accents. Good sillage

You definitely need a high tolerance for white florals (especially jasmine and then lily of the valley). I have it, and I like it!

I stocked up on it back then and still love it:
Unsweetened white flowers with a hint of fresh green.
Delicately playful.

Wow, I find it very indolic.
Maybe it's due to the age of the fragrance, but it's really intense.
It could have been so beautiful, you can sense that.

Bright, friendly, fresh, and not too strong jasmine scent. But no lily-of-the-valley haters! Because the bells are definitely present!
