Dark dramatic leather
A beautiful leatherscent - dark and dramatic. First a bit raw and sharp, later more warm and elegant. Leather is more like Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford or Cuir d'Arabie by Montale (similar depth, darkness and animalic notes at the beginning). Accentuated with tobacco, lavender and spice.

Very harmonious individually accented leather scent, exquisitely complemented by tobacco and cypress
The abundance of slightly gasoline-scented, somewhat wild-leather fragrances in recent years unfortunately became stylistically overwhelming, with the majority garnished with raspberry or similar (slightly feminine?) fruits; for me, it eventually became too much of a good thing, also too much copy and paste.

This Pineider fragrance now stands out pleasantly from the crowd, as it sets delightfully independent accents in the leather milieu.

Cypress, plenty of tobacco, slightly ethereal lavender, and a splash of slightly bitter mandarin juice elegantly embrace the slightly scuffed, somewhat oily leather at the center in a very harmonious, nobly rounded way. Extremely individual and with considerable recognition value.

The tobacco has endurance, somewhat dry and pleasantly sour, while the cypress contributes a fresh-woody-greenish note.

Good in spring and autumn, and for me, a very pleasant discovery in 2018, a year in which I discovered relatively few new perfume highlights.

Classy Suede & Lavender Fields
Cuoio Nobile was one of the first fragrances launched by Pineider in 2012. They were well-versed in fine leather goods. It was only natural to dedicate a fragrance to this theme and to combine the three classic masculine notes: leather, lavender, and tobacco.

The idea behind Pineider fragrances seems to lie more in the high-end gifting sector. Of course, you can buy the fragrances for yourself. But gifting is simply much more beautiful. And that’s why each Pineider fragrance comes with a small name card attached to the wooden box. For the recipient. From the sender. No wrapping needed - this wooden box is just too beautiful. The glass cylinder feels lovely in hand.

Cuoio Nobile lives up to its name. Although I perceive more suede than nappa leather, it strongly reminds me of a very elegant briefcase. Hand-stitched. With an embossed monogram. A highly prestigious accessory that its owner hardly thinks about anymore. Yet it completes the overall picture.

The beautiful suede is bordered by wild lavender and a hint of tobacco. Classic. Unpretentious. And to the point. Here, the lavender, with its slightly underlying sweetness, gains significant presence after about an hour of wear, creating a feeling of maximum tranquility. The bright tobacco also contributes to this.

If one were to describe Cuoio Nobile, it is a skilled decelerator. It creates for me more the aura of a convertible ride through the lavender fields of southern France than it does of any jet-set attitude. In its dreamy manner, it never pushes to the forefront but rather blends in. Fascinating, without polarizing. It is never intrusive.

It makes me, its wearer, smile. Even dream a little of Provence.

It should be noted that Cuoio Nobile is not just for men. Anyone who enjoys light suede, lavender, and tobacco should definitely take a seat for a ride. :)

Description for the Distinction of Contemporary "Leather Scents"
Contrary to some previous statements, I strongly assume that here too, due to certain olfactory overlaps, the leather impression has been "stretched" by a fruit/berry note (e.g. Beta-Damascenone and Benzoin/Patch) - a component also found in Moonlight Patchouli, Royal Leather, etc.

Somewhat quieter than usual, the aforementioned accord is pleasantly integrated into the context of the overall composition.
The dominant scent impression is that of orange blossom/tangerine with a subtle background of leather.
A cypress/conifer impression, if present, is inseparably linked to the mentioned citrus fruit, purely associatively: Cypress = Tangerine Peel = Orange Blossom + Patch

There are no overly pronounced accents on patchouli, benzoin, or similar; rather, the tobacco note is generated much more by the aforementioned fruitiness of the leather accord.
(Reference scents for clear distinction:
Akowa [Orange Blossom/Tangerine towards Cypress],
Hinoki [Cypress Note]
Moonlight Patchouli [Wild Leather Note, Beta-Damascenone])

Overall, tangerine and berry stand out over leather.
This is well done and indeed may also remind one of new car interiors.

The fragrance possesses a citrusy lightness with sufficient durability of the leather note; by the way, suitable for both genders.

Late Love
It took some time for me to recognize the special character of Cuoio Nobile. I sensed the subtle bitterness and elegance of the fragrance, but I didn't take the necessary time and calm to enjoy and discover it.
I acquired it a year ago. The seemingly lacking projection was the reason I set it aside, offered it for sale again, and ultimately forgot about it. A tremendous mistake...
A few days ago, I rummaged through unsorted samples, forgotten decants, discarded bottles, notes, and fleeting scribbles during a quiet moment.
I retrieved the unassuming Pineider bottle with the noble leather cap from the back rows of my collection.
The top note is bitter and fresh - dominated by the spicy lavender note. The interplay of resins, cypress, and lavender creates, with insistence, oily, metallic nuances that dominate the entrance for a long time. Quickly, a present but unexcited tobacco spice and bright leather tones join in. The light leather and carefully measured notes of tonka and patchouli make the fragrance appear smart and
charmingly fragrant despite all its serious depth as it develops further. All components wonderfully coalesce into a casually elegant leather scent that gently envelops the wearer, charmingly accompanies, and doesn’t overwhelm anyone.

The masterful Luca Maffei has already shown with some creations for Acca Kappa and Carthusia that he excellently masters the art of "floating balance."

Cuoio Nobile associates light and dark leather tones, robust tobacco, and sometimes the taste of a good cognac.
For the "wardrobe for the scent," casual classics are recommended, as well as the late evening hour and a jazzy ballad by Sade.

I have - thank God - learned to appreciate the special quality of this beautiful fragrance just in time.
It now has a lovely place in the front rows of my collection.

pretty harmless, unremarkable leather, rather mild, mandarin doesn’t add anything positive either, interchangeable.

Light brown leather seats in the open convertible, as you drive through lavender fields with a cigarillo casually tucked in the corner of your mouth.

Aggressive, smoky aroma-chemical leather infused with a hint of citrus fruit and slightly brightened by lavender. It really annoys me.

The bright hello builds on a dark foundation. Association chain: brown leaves, crude oil, hinoki wood, oud substitute, metallic fruits, dry breeze.

Very beautiful leather with light tobacco, fine & subtle - with such a lovely scent, I wish for a bit more sillage, it stays close to me. 9+

A rugged leather scent with a good amount of spice and, although not listed, a hint of smokiness. The noble leather fits perfectly.

It's all about the leather: luxurious suede, fruity-smoky, darkens with oily residue (dirty!), goes full throttle on the fruit. Bye bye!

One of the most beautiful leather scents, classic, modern, good - no frills. Wonderful, soft leather that accompanies, not dominates.

Authentic, black-looking straight leather like a brand-new car seat in a well-maintained vehicle, citrus splashes brighten it up.
