Decision Aid
Since my jewelry is lost due to criminal hands, I really have a need to buy more.

Even my husband sees this and willingly accompanies me to the jewelry department at Karstadt.
Of course, I need a cross - and also my zodiac sign.
That's a good place to start.

But then I must go to the Berdoues corner.
My husband sighs.

But a shiver runs through me, for the numerous colorful bottles have disappeared!

Browsing and testing there had become a beloved habit of mine for weeks.

Oh, I hesitated too long with a purchase - and now I have to deal with the consequences.
If only I had been reasonable!

My husband takes a deep breath and sports off to check the shelves.
He doesn’t seem to like my bitter expression at all.

Then I see his hand light up - and indeed, he has discovered the new location of the pretty bottles.
Relieved, I dive into the sea of bottles, testing some unknown fragrances - which, sigh, I like quite a bit - but I want - as Hamlet says - to no longer tarnish the innate color of resolution with the pallor of thought.

My husband also shows an open mind and sniffs along with me.

Our noses swing from this to that - and keep landing on the fragrant pink cherry blossoms.
Plump sweet cherries still hang on the branches - combined with minty shiso.
A delightful sweet-cool combination.
A hint of warmth and some depth is experienced by the transparent scent through subtle patch - but it retains its fragile statement.

My husband nods at me.
Feminine with an Asian touch - that’s his expert opinion.
I cannot disagree with that - although I think Yoshino could also appeal to a sensitive gentleman.

In any case, the cherry blossoms had to come with me, and they are blooming, despite their delicacy, surprisingly long on my skin now.

In Search of Hiroshima
I am looking for a fragrance that is similar to "Hiroshima Mon Amour" by Nez à Nez. It apparently is no longer available anywhere. And I like it very much. Many other fragrances that I also really like have come my way, but not one is at least somewhat similar to "Hiroshima Mon Amour".
So while reading the fragrance description, I thought that "Cologne Grand Cru - Somei Yoshino" might go in that direction and I also hoped that the distinct slightly spicy green note of Shiso could give the fragrance something particularly unique. And if not Hiroshima, then perhaps I would discover another beautiful scent.
It sounded so promising: Shiso and cherry blossom scent, patchouli. Well, the jasmine part is always tricky for me, but if good jasmine is used and dosed subtly, I actually like it.
So I ordered a sample of this new fragrance "Cologne Grand Cru - Somei Yoshino".
Unfortunately, I found neither one nor the other in "Cologne Grand Cru - Somei Yoshino".
"Cologne Grand Cru - Somei Yoshino" actually starts with a green, slightly spicy note of Shiso. I have sown some and now know how it smells and tastes.
Green, of course, initially quite sharp but pleasant, a mix of garden cress and slightly spicy basil as you can harvest from the garden.
In contrast to cress, all types of radish, horseradish, mustard, and wasabi, which I cannot tolerate at all, I can eat Shiso without any concerns. But it quickly loses its sharpness and you only taste something like lamb's lettuce.
Shiso behaves similarly in "Cologne Grand Cru - Somei Yoshino". The green note remains throughout the entire duration, the spiciness is only noticeable at the beginning.
Immediately follows a slightly sweet fruity scent, somewhat peculiar on one hand, but distinctly reminiscent of blackcurrant on the other. If there are flowers or even jasmine included, they are overshadowed by the green note. The sweetness of the fruity scent dissipates immediately during the course of "Cologne Grand Cru - Somei Yoshino". And now the fragrance stands. A bit monotonous and boring, minimalist. For me, one of many fruity scents, of which I can count on one hand those I would accept. "Cologne Grand Cru - Somei Yoshino" is not one of them. Although it has no gummy fruit note and no hints of citrus.
After a while, "Cologne Grand Cru - Somei Yoshino" does tend to smell like fruit candies sweetened with saccharin or aspartame, it seems. I do not like these substitute sugars and I cannot tolerate them either. I find that this is not a real sweetness. I want to subtly imply that this relatively expensive cologne unfortunately has a synthetic note and consequently good longevity.
No, "Cologne Grand Cru - Somei Yoshino" does not excite me at all. I will mark it off.
However, I do not want to leave unmentioned: "Cologne Grand Cru - Somei Yoshino" is a serious green-fruity fragrance without frills. I am just not the right person for this scent.

Enjoying Shisotee under pink cherry blossoms; a single jasmine flower in my hair, carried away by the fresh spring breeze. Nice & clean.

A fresh cherry blossom, rather unsweet, almost aquatic/melony, so maybe a bit synthetic, more mature - just "refreshingly different" not bad!

Very generic olfactory department store noise. No edges, no corners, no opinion.
Laboratory flower.
Annoying.
Bad.

Pretty in Pink. Jasmine and cherry blossom (which isn't even listed in the pyramid?). Fresh, delicate, and lovely at the same time. I like it!

Green-herbaceous opening. Sour fruits come in. No jasmine + no patch for me. Becomes slightly sweet, soapy, and very synthetic.

Very transparent floral scent with a hint of sweet cherry aroma.
I especially like the subtle patch note in the base.

Cherry blossom with melon? At least for me. Jasmine hardly makes an appearance, fresh, not sweet, but very lovely! For me, it’s quite fleeting on the skin.

Delicate cherry blossom scent with green notes.
Fresh, only slightly sweet, synthetic.
Reminds me of L'Eau D'Isseys in its base notes.
