Yawn!

Out of Peng Lai's 3 official notes (osmanthus, benzoin, tonka), I only get the osmanthus. Both of the other notes would add warmth and sweetness, but this is a super-clean floral. The osmanthus smells so cool, soapy and sterile, especially at first, it kind of reminds me of hairspray. Later it turns more peachy, which I find much more palatable. The drydown smells better with a little body warmth, so I'd categorize this as a summer perfume.
Now I don't mind inoffensive, clean scents, but this crosses the line to bland. Even though I often write long, detailed reviews, I have no idea what else to say about this.
The most noteworthy thing about Peng Lai is the beautiful pattern on the bottle.

Light and summery

Since I wanted to get to know the brand Berdoues, I ordered Peng Lai. I found it interesting that the perfume also contains the molecule Iso-E, which means it can unfold individually. The scent goes in the direction of Pink Molecule for me, so light, summery but only with a peach note or better said peach iced tea. It's quite pleasant, but nothing more. You can wear it on hot summer days since it's so light or even to the office; it certainly won't disturb anyone. It won't be a great love for me, but it's okay for a change in between.

Tai Chi

After I enjoyed the Indian Elephant from this label, I curiously reached for Peng Lai - I admit, also guided by the pretty outfit of the bottle, featuring the elegant depiction of cranes spreading their wings among lotus flowers.

The crane - the Asian symbol for a long life.

This fragrance also impresses with clear transparency - and one thinks of the Zen wisdom: Everything flows.

I remember my Tai Chi classes, where one transitioned with flowing movements from the "ball position" to "splitting the horse's mane" to the graceful "crane."

This required inner calm and an effortless, natural control of the body.

Meditation in space.

And the fragrance-crane also glides silently over me - reminding me to retreat into quiet, inner reflection.

The osmanthus envelops me nobly and softly - sweetly vanilla-like accompanied by the benzoin resin.
Tonka rounds it off - with a hint of marzipan.

This meditative, peaceful mood feels extremely soothing - and one leans back - for the grass grows on its own.
