Bitter melon and seaweed
This one had me intrigued from the start. The opening is hard to pin down. It’s somewhere between green and citrus, but not in the typical sharp way. There’s a cucumber-melon freshness, a cooling clarity that feels hydrating rather than juicy. I couldn’t detect jasmine, and there's no sweetness. Everything here is green, crisp, and slightly vegetal.
At first, I thought this would be a strong contender for me for gym or active days, thanks to that invigorating freshness in the opening. It felt clean, neutral, and refreshing. The kind of scent that won’t offend anyone, but still adds a touch of interest. However, as it started to develop and settle, I quickly realized I don’t think I’d actually be able to wear it. It becomes too earthy, salty, and green in a way that’s more conceptual than wearable for me.
As it dries down, it smells less like fruit and more like dried autumn leaves. There’s a definite shift in mood - from summer brightness to early autumn stillness. Later on, something unexpected creeps in: a hint of saltiness and dry seaweed, like standing near the edge of a lake with fallen leaves all around. It's not aquatic in a blue way, but more like green water.
Strange, but interesting
