Dogs that bark rarely bite (almost)!
Everyone knows this saying. Whether there is always some truth to it is another question.
Personally, I would say: Yes, that's true. At least, if the tail is wagging too ;-)
House of Matriarch has very special fragrances that you either love or hate. There is no in-between.
Alpha is one that - because it is so oddly special - suits my nose.
Dark, smoky, resinous, dirty, green-glowing, and sharp-woody.
Alpha jumps at you immediately after the first spray - no matter where - and barks loudly.
I would almost say it even growls, and you definitely take a step back.
What a smoke, what dark, resinous smoke that is whipped through the air by thick cedar branches until everything is "smoked" out. A fine hint of smoke clings to the body, as if you are stoking a fire that still has some embers and starts to smoke again while adding more logs.
A fine resin scent, from resins that are not yellowish but clear to milky scraped from trees, fills the nose with an almost balsamic aroma. Alpha is not medicinal or like an esoterically tinged fragrance. It is dark and smoky. Wonderful! One could almost think that Alpha, over time, or let’s say - after the barking - becomes "tail-waggingly" polite.
Always with a twinkle in its eye and still a bit to be approached with caution. A delicate powdery note can be sensed and is gone again just as quickly. It shouldn’t give the impression that Alpha is a lap dog!! No, no.
So, all in all, a great fragrance for noses that enjoy it dark-smoky and absolutely not ordinary.
