Those that get it, get it (the BR540 love)
Up until now, and before my fragrance obsession, I have finished exactly 2 bottles of perfume - this was one of them. Having now tried the original (which I hadn’t done when I got this originally) and about 10 supposed dupes over the years, this is one of the best. I’m so glad to have it in my collection again so I can try layering it.
As some have noted, this doesn’t have the plastic smell BR540 does - it’s a smooth, sweet Ambroxan, cedarwood, and saffron concoction. Sheer enough to layer, bold enough to wear alone and as a signature scent.
I don’t mind the simple bottle especially because this lasts all day on clothes (I will have stopped smelling it hours earlier but get compliments) and doesn’t cost my firstborn son.
For better or worse, I’ll probably be a Baccarat Rouge lover until I die and find the DNA intoxicatingly good when done right - and Dossier did it right.
