Beautiful but for the patch
Montale gets raves for quality and deservedly so: Chypré Fruité is no exception. This fragrance is full-bodied with presence and persistence. It's just lovely. Or perhaps I should say, it could have been lovely on me.

As a fruity chypre kind of gal, Chypré Fruité should be right up my alley, right? Well, should be, but it ain't. For me and on me, Chypré Fruité is just too much sweet patchouli. Not just too much patchouli, too much _sweet_ patchouli. I'm pretty agnostic about patchouli, and I can usually carry it just fine, but this particular accord that's being used in Chypré Fruité is far too much for me. I suspect it is far too much for many others as well.

Overall, Chypré Fruité has a character similar to Badgley Mischka. However, the Chypré Fruité is less boozy, less fruity, and more patchouli. The Montale certainly feels like a better fragrance to me, and I sense some pineapple in here. However, it is missing the fleshy fruits I'm accustomed to - like pear & peaches. So I enjoy the Badgley Mischka much more.

elegant fruits
I enjoy wearing Pretty Fruity by Montale, so I eagerly reached for Chypre Fruite.
However, the two fragrances are very dissimilar.

While Fruity bursts with cheerfulness, Fruite speaks of elegance and distinction - without appearing forced.

The scent is mature and playful, but not stiff.
The Chypre note is soft, non-scratchy, and not soapy - rather silky.
Very cuddly and pleasant.
The tropical fruits hold back gently - with a touch of bitterness, nestled in velvety rose petals.
The oak moss also provides only a subtle support, brightened by the jasmine.
Patchouli lightly wafts above it.

Despite its elegance, Fruite flatters and does not constrict.
You don't have to rummage through your finest attire to be compatible with the scent.
Chypre Fruite is definitely suitable for everyday wear - yet still imparts an exclusive wearing experience.

The longevity is excellent, the sillage noticeable but not overwhelming.
On "adult" days, I enjoy wearing Fruite very much - in "big kid moments," Pretty Fruity comes into play.
Everything in its time.

Basic Cut
Forgive me my admittedly far-fetched association:

I don't know if any of you girls enjoy sewing. I had no choice but to learn, because try finding something in size 34 that doesn't look girly. The most important thing is a well-fitting basic cut. Once you have that, it's not so difficult to alter the piece again and again.

That's what I think of when I spray on Chyprè-Fruitè. The basic cut, the theme of Chypre fits perfectly. Fresh and delicately floral in the top note, then it becomes a bit fruity, thankfully not red-berry, but rather yellow (pineapple, mango?) juicy, and the familiar spicy Chypre base rounds off the fragrance. In this case, relatively light, patchouli and oakmoss hold back.

To stick with my initial comparison, a precious fabric has also been chosen, but the model is a bit too plain for me. I always expect something extraordinary to happen, a break, a flare-up of an unusual note, but no, I have to provide the accessories myself.

70% means again: Yes, I would wear it, but it doesn't have to be on my wish list.

Classy Little Fruit
So.... actually, I don't like fruity scents. Despite the name C.F., this isn't one either. A perfect combination of earthy chypre fragrance mixed with a softening component. For me, the discovery of the week... month? The so-called tropical fruits provide the balance of this scent and carry it into a new era. Here, they fit perfectly. Absolutely modern, confident with fruit. A reinterpretation of chypre variants. Simply classy. But I do like this fragrance direction anyway. You can still sniff me out for minutes after I’ve disappeared. That's how it should be :)

Chypré Light
Today was somehow Chypre weather, so the only question was, which one should it be?
The choice fell on Chypré Fruité, which I remembered as rather light, and it did not deceive me.

Overall, the theme is well executed, coherent and harmonious, elegant and bright.
The opening is floral and fresh, in the heart note the rather yellow fruits, and at the end the familiar base, here however light, fluffy, and quite unobtrusive.

Alone, I miss the "raucous" aspect that I am used to from other representatives of this genre, and that bothers me here, because when I'm in the mood for Chypre, it should really pack a punch.

Chypré Fruité is suitable for the office, in spring and summer, and it doesn't really offend anyone.

The longevity is average.
The sillage is in the medium range.

Not extraordinary but a decent Chypre, modernly interpreted. I always flinch at Tropic, but here it’s used subtly.
Chypre finish.

Fruity scents aren't really my thing.. this one is more of a lightly modernized classic far from cocktail umbrellas + tropical fruit. Oak moss is prominent.
