"The Sunset at Dawn"
Personally, I love Interlude and Interlude Black Iris, but the openings for them are rather "blunt swing in my nose".
They are the "Blue Beasts", but I wish the warmth and heart of the dry down could come forward a little sooner.
If you have/love Amouage Interlude (Black Iris) and want an in-between that is not super harsh and dry on your nose, this is the piece.
On my skin, tested in both indoor and outdoor settings, the performance is amazing.
Top notes develop within/after 20 min, mid notes and base notes will last for 6hrs, quite prominently.
Dallah follows a similar tone and design to the Interlude, but it is a gentler and more pleasing experience overall.
If you check the notes online, I would say that they are quite accurate; you can pick out each individual note/ingredient yourself.
It is said to be inspired by the coffee heritage sort of things, so it is a warm fragrance, but not as powerful as I expected.
Yes, you can tell that it has the oriental elements that remind you of that.
The cardamon is really present, I can feel it 80% of the time, and it is interwhined with Patchouli and Leather vibes to give you that classic woody fragrance profile.
What really stood out to me is how the honey and violet come into play as it develops further.
Almost like a rhythmic change of sweet and pleasant notes fading in and out, which does not stick at first, but if you take a couple more sniffs, you will realise its presence.
The layers of scent development are really done well here.
However, the emphasis I would like to drive home here is for anyone interested in trying it out or owning it, is that this fragrance delivers a very strong character!
It is a rich and powerful fragrance, but its presence draws respect and wonder, rather than commanding it.
