The girls that get it, get it
My title means no harm, but this particular fragrance is one that is either strongly hated, or so passionately loved. So if you know, you know. And if you don’t, well, you just don’t. Fragrances are subjective at the end of the day.
I discovered Ms. Fenty a few years ago when I did a perfume swap with a sweet girl I met in the city. She had disclosed to me that she liked the scent, but she didn’t love it (even with her husband going absolutely feral for it on her). So I get a hold of it and spray it on, and sniffed it for about 5 minutes to assess it while we chat. And the rollercoaster of emotions this scent took me on within those 5-10 minutes of interaction is all history. I fell head over heels with Fenty that day and could not understand how something could be so damn good. Needless to say, I was SO happy when she agreed to swap!
Fenty is a fruity floral fragrance with a big ole patchouli leaf that has main character syndrome. The fruits and vanilla serve as both softener and sweetener. It’s also a bit spicy, and the rose really packs a punch. It’s as if the rose and patch are fighting for center stage, so if you don’t like either of those notes, you probably will hate this. For me personally, this is easily in my top 10 fragrances. The scent works so well on me (I mean compliments GALORE) and has outstanding performance, sillage and longevity wise. It’s incredibly unique, especially for a designer fragrance, but what would you expect from a collaboration with Rihanna and Jacques Cavallier? It really speaks for itself.
If you couldn’t already tell, I am an Fenty Fanatic. She’s powerful, she’s sexy, she’s sophisticated, she’s BOLD, and she’s not afraid to be her unadulterated self. She embodies a lot of the qualities of Rihanna as a woman, which really ties in all of the beauty of this scent. Best believe I will always keep a bottle of this gorgeous elixir in my fragrance artillery.
