Savile No
The "Savile Row Company" has about as much to do with Savile Row as Lidl does with Harrods. There, cheap shirts and suits are cobbled together in Vietnam or China, in a distant nod to classic English style, of course styled down to mainstream taste. Almost like Charles Tyrwhitt, just a step below. So what can one expect from the perfume? Certainly not true Savile Row level, like a classic Geo. F. Trumper scent. But perhaps something worthily English, like the excellent Woods of Windsor? Not a chance. As the ad copy reveals, this fragrance is designed for the "modern man," not for the gentleman, and consequently has nothing to do with English perfume tradition. The fragrance pyramid is - literally - made up and false. All in all, this is nothing more than a cheap, interchangeable industrial scent, an Ambroxan stinker at Otto Kern level. In this respect, it is perfectly suited for the TK-Maxx bargain bin at 10 euros.

Be my Valentine
On Valentine's Day, my dear brother-in-law and my loyal hunting dog celebrate their birthdays - and both have chosen a fitting date, as they are kindness personified.

While my beloved dog Quint watches over me from heaven.

But Kay still walks the earth - and keeps an eye on me from the Sauerland.

He is a tall, athletic, attractive man - and when he takes off his riding clothes and slips into a suit, he certainly looks very gentlemanly.
But of the humorous, casual sort.
Some lovely ladies risk taking a glance or two.

During a visit, he never fails to bring me exquisite roses AND a cute plush toy.
I call that good manners!

And thus, Savile Row awaits as well.
The appearance is classic yet relaxed - without being strict.

Citrusy coolness provides transparency at the start - which runs through the entire fragrance journey.

At no point does Savile appear heavy or even intrusive - yet it maintains its British elegant statement.
The geranium adds floral softness - and the jasmine brings brightness.

This gentleman is in good spirits.

The nutmeg is finely dosed and amber is attractively sweet.
Slight woodiness underscores the masculine yet approachable character of the fragrance.

It will suit my smart Kay - and also the aura of my dear protector Quint.

A fragrance to fall in love with - be my Valentine.

Relaxed Mint ... always feels good!
Hooked by Minigolf's wonderful comment, I became curious: citrus, mint, flowers, spice, woods. Yep, that sounds not only good, but it is indeed the British one!

In the first quarter of an hour, this cheapie feels both invigorating and familiar, thanks to a fruity-fresh opening and especially its tea-like note, where the mint is clearly noticeable. You immediately feel comfortable "in" it.

Then, after about an hour, something slightly floral comes into play, giving the fragrance a youthful, almost sweet twist - beautifully arranged and subtly supported by well-chosen woods. It seems that a bit of sandalwood is at work initially, and later also cedar. It’s very nice that the fragrance oscillates between the floral and woody notes for about two hours, yet is always interwoven with its wonderfully relaxing mint.

After the floral notes fade, a hint of floral sweetness remains, and the elixir becomes quite transparent in the further drydown, which makes it appear very clear and clean, thanks to the cedar (?). Thus, I perceive this Brit as a feel-good all-rounder even after its halfway mark, which, although it doesn't stand out much, is all the more pleasing - a kind of backup fragrance, whose mint keeps reviving it. Therefore, it is particularly recommended for daily work and leisure, as it feels very tidy and unobtrusive. And who wouldn’t want such a smart companion? Thus, I see three advantages combined in its universal talent:

1) Suitable for daily wear, especially for those who don’t want to think too much about fragrance variety and neither want to stand out nor have a larger collection.

2) Recommended as a change-of-pace fragrance when you need a break from the many more complex scents you usually surround yourself with.

3) To be used as a go-to when you can't decide on one of your other fragrances.

You can trust this soothing Brit blindly, as it accompanies its wearer unobtrusively yet always noticeably throughout the day. However, it should be reapplied after about 5 hours, which it does without much sillage, making it optimal for the office. Despite a certain presence, it is rather a subtly floral-green clean scent with a fine twist into the spicy-woody. And its

relaxing mint ... always feels good!

He Left Me No Choice
Again and again, I circled around the fragrance at Tk-Maxx, opened its Parfumo page, and eyed it a few times over three weeks. The scent description and the price (almost a flat 10 euros for 100 ml) finally convinced me, but above all, my curiosity. Now I have it and I do not regret it. What I get to sniff is very well done. Not too sweet, not too harsh, just right. The opening of the fragrance is quite citrusy and minty; I also think I can smell Yuzu. This is a long-lasting, somewhat rough and intense exotic citrus.
What follows is almost theatrical: "Madame Rose and Miss Jasmine, your entrance please.
But not in evening gowns or fine clothing, rather casual and close to nature, like colorfully dressed boys and girls in the midst of an herb meadow, laughing, joking, and in good spirits.
Later, it’s off to the forest. A light mixed forest in the evening dew. Wonderfully fragrant underbrush and moss in the undergrowth. Cool and warm at the same time. Perfect for sitting, sniffing, and "listening".
I hear a brook bubbling by. Also, an evening bird concert. And I love to enjoy this moment.

A peppery citrus scent that skillfully gains uniqueness from the rose, which surprised me more than I expected - ideal sillage.

Citrusy-peppery freshness with a subtle floral background. Longevity and sillage are more than okay.
Totally underrated!

Subtle, classic, pleasant. Balsamic cedar, green freshness, lightly sweet. Plus a floral touch. Very successful.

Sometimes sharp and flat. Yet still solid. Fresh-spicy, affordable. Classic and clean. Sometimes fine nuances, depending on the day.
