Gris Dior was really beautiful.
I am new to you. I am new with a passion that is rapidly taking me and costing me sleep. New with a passion that allows me to feel a little happier in every place. I'm new to being a gatherer, a hunter, an enjoyer, a sharer - me, of all people, me with my autism.
I can understand emotions, but I have a hard time responding appropriately. Or at least, what one understands by appropriate.
I myself leave many things quite untouched, at least if it exceeds the scope of the closest family and friends.
I use my spare time to do research. If something interests me, then correctly. I want - I must know everything about it.
And so I somehow came to the topic of fragrance a few months ago and finally here.
To come to the actual star of the comment I gallop now following something:

Registered here I quickly asked for the first samples and the fragrances came shortly thereafter and made me somewhat speechless whether their quality compared to my previous olfactory enjoyable "Wässerchen".
After a few envelopes finally came Gris Dior. Sprayed on the wrist and directly closed my eyes while inhaling, because I found him beautiful. Beautiful.
More bottlings came from sharings. Many bottlings.
Gris Dior was really nice.
Some bottles moved in.
Gris Dior was really nice.
I started wearing a different scent every day.
Gris Dior was really nice.
I suddenly put on fragrances to go to bed.
Gris Dior was really nice.
I gave fragrances 10 points here.
Gris Dior was really nice.
I dreamed of fragrances.
Gris Dior was really nice.
I thought about fragrances during the day.
Gris Dior was really beautiful.

That's when I started to notice. No matter what fragrance I'm dealing with or which one I'm thinking about - it always comes back this quiet, beautiful memory of the fragrance that I unpacked a few weeks ago, briefly tested and found "beautiful".
He is not only beautiful. He gives me goosebumps just thinking about him. He makes me happy when I wear him.
He makes me emotional.

Me.

I'm not yet good at describing scents and even if I could name each scent blindly, so perhaps just as the description of my sense of well-being, which I have tried to clarify to you, helps.

Gris Dior is beautiful. Beautifully sensual, beautifully delicate, beautifully sophisticated interwoven florals with a wonderful creaminess.

The awareness that Gris Dior must be the fragrance of my life, I attained a few days ago.

A short journey to the most beautiful destination.

I will like, appreciate, share and rate well other fragrances, but I will always come back to her.

To Gris Dior.

This oakmoss...!
This fragrance begins ladylike, almost quietly, with a floral, enigmatic elegance. Not too rosy at all. For AugustA's perception unobtrusive presence in grey and blackberry tones.
The texture is light but firm. In front of my eye immediately appears a diorama costume with blouse and scarf.

Delicate floral, woody green, a little tart, but always gentle and distinguished. Sometimes a warm, sometimes a cool wind. Some slightly sweet flower tone disturbs me in between. This could be the rose-jasmine combination in the heart
But then: The most beautiful is the Drydown! And it's dry. And it's so mossy. It's very attractive. A tangy, soft oakmoss base that I have rarely experienced on skin. It would be enough for my skin to smell like that and it would be my...

My wonderful scented chameleon!
There are things that have the potential to accompany you as a memory until the end of your life. They seem in their perfection as if they had fallen out of time and space - and as if they were themselves enough in their being. For me, a fragrance like that is Gris from Dior.
Once again as blind sharing (but as always it was definitely the very-very-last one..... ) he came to me. I took him out of the mailbox when I was on my way to the orthodontist with my son. The atomizer was not inscribed and while I was digging in my brain, which fillings are just on the way to me - there were three :) - had to immediately put a first sprayer on my wrist, while my dutiful son was already wriggling because we were close. Well, that just meant cycling through the park a little faster! It's a good thing that I can also drive freehand if necessary, because during the trip I simply held my hand in front of my nose at some distance. Don't panic, of course NOT in front of your eyes! But I must confess that I was not only a little distracted, because a magical scent surrounded me immediately. Meanwhile my brain was rattling at full speed: Sharing number one (Pour un Homme de Caron L'eau) I can exclude, because lavender is certainly not! Sharing number two (Eau de Givenchy) as well, that's citric-izzish and I've tested it before. And what was the third one again???? Isn't it typical that in such situations only two out of three occur to you and the right one isn't among them? And if I had just waited for 15 sharings, then I would certainly have thought of 14 and exactly this one scent would not have occurred to me:)
The nice thing about it was that I could enjoy the fragrance the first time without having any preconceived fragrance expectations. And when I filled out my son's admission sheet at the doctor's, parked my hand very close to my nose, while the Filius stabbed me in the ribs with a pointed elbow like only teenagers can have ("Mama, you are sooo embarrassing, please stop smelling your hand all the time.....") I was fascinated by the unknown scent from minute to minute more. It begins at the moment of spraying with a light fresh spice, and a complex scent of roses is immediately added. It is a "built" rose fragrance for me, the rose is clearly accompanied by helping white-flowering plants that support the fragrance and make it softer and more elegant. It comes in the course of the time more spice in addition and a hunch of moss makes "Gris" more adult, without the slightest tendency to the Madamigen. The base is a wonderfully elegant blend of flowers, wood, patchouli and musk, over which a touch of bergamot can still be felt.
Gris is difficult for me to describe, he is like a phantom of a fragrance, from which the wearer assembles the exactly fitting elements according to her mood. There are days when it is flowery-fresh for me and I immediately think of bergamot and rose, of others powdery-elegant and I smell next to the rose a finely ground patchouli sandalwood, and sometimes it is for me a floating restrainedly proud chypre rose. Gris changes for me from accessible - flowery to artificially built and as if presented under a glass lintel. I would describe it as a dense fragrance, complex and deliberately built, but not minimalist, but overflowing. Because of its design it is not only fresh and flowery for me, but in the background there was a note hovering which hints at another side, a more serious, darker one, which the fragrance also has for me on some days.
I am lucky - Gris accompanies me through the whole day and I love him at all times as he changes over the hours. I don't feel any temptation to spray, because I don't want to disturb him, don't want to confuse anything in this for me so perfect and unique fragrance!

Grey: the colour of Christian Dior
Pearl gray was one of, if not the favorite color of Christian Dior and has become cult as this; the "couture gray" was already celebrated by the patron downright.
His three-piece suits were usually pearl grey, with matching shirts, ties and pocket squares. The little gentleman was vain!
The family home in Granville was also plastered in light gray; with a slight touch of pink, which is probably why it became known in part as "Christian Dior's pink house in Granville."
And let's not forget the pearl grey façade of the first boutique on Avenue Montaigne.
Where it all began!

So it's no wonder that the House of Dior, under its current chief perfumer F. Demanchy, finally launched a fragrance of that name in 2013:

"Gris Dior" - it does not need more!
Right up front: here succeeds the connection between modernity and tradition excellent.
A discreetly elegant signature distinguishes this fragrance composition.

"Gris Dior" is surprisingly fresh; not exactly light-footed and playful, but rather a little robust. Perhaps reminiscent of Granville and the Atlantic coast?
The classic bergamot note may not be missing in the prelude and leads into the garden, where the fragrance-intensive roses and small-flowered jasmine bushes are already waiting longingly.
They are immediately ready to contribute their heavy, sun-drenched aroma clouds and thus give "Gris Dior" a floral note and keep it; even if the base fragrance notes spread powerfully.
Of course, oakmoss and cedar must not be missing. It's as if a spicy-fresh breeze from the Atlantic is blowing through this melange of fragrances. Neither are so strong that they smother the floral hints: if anything, they accentuate them! (This match is won by the florals!)
Patchouli and sandalwood are sympathetically present and are still crowned as classic final scents by Ambergold.
"Gris Dior" needs neither pomp nor fanfare!

All this results in a multi-faceted fragrance creation, which is quite worthy of the name Dior.
Unpretentious comes this fragrance creature "Gris Dior" therefore, but not inconspicuous: just pearl gray!
In the elegant pearl gray of Christian Dior!

Spectacularly unspectacular
"Gris Dior" is spectacularly unspectacular, unapproachable, cold, distant and unremarkable at first sight, perhaps even a little dreary.
But that is exactly why "Gris Dior" is so timeless, so mature, adult, round and uncomplicated - no matter for which sex.
"Gris Dior" is the olfactory white blouse, the white shirt, worn during the spring, neat, without any corner, without any edge. First the rose, then green notes, shortly after cedar wood - that is "Gris Dior". The rose is unsweet, adult, fresh, actually already undercooled, frosted for some noses, the green notes slightly tart, never too bitter and in no way setting the tone. The cedar wood comes across dry, a little bit of bleached pencil character resonates. Sounds boring at first and it is, if you let your nose slide over the wetted skin. But in the air the magic unfolds, which I cannot describe in detail. Maybe "elitist" would be the appropriate attribute - but only maybe. You must have smelled it yourself.
