The Problem with Marketing
Marketing to a specific gender is quite a tricky thing… When I started exploring fragrances, I only browsed through the men's sections of the usual drugstores and eventually also perfume shops. The scents often had "Man" or "pour homme" right in the name.
A fragrance marketed to women I probably wouldn't have even looked at back then.
How wonderful that this has changed! Because now treasures like this one are not hidden from me!
The Lesedi La Rona VI Eau de Parfum is a truly dreamy fruity-vanilla oud fragrance that can be worn by all genders and at any age!
The scent opens with an authentic and distinctly perceivable, slightly tart blackberry on my skin. Soon, a high-quality and not at all animalistic oud joins in. The fruity and woody notes harmonize perfectly with each other and are complemented after about an hour by a few floral accents.
After about three to four hours, the fragrance becomes increasingly vanilla and warmer. The blackberry remains present for a long time, and the oud is noticeable until the end. I particularly enjoy the period when the blackberry and oud are still clearly perceivable, and the beautiful vanilla slowly becomes more prominent! Nevertheless, I wouldn't want to miss any other part of the progression.
For nearly six hours, the fragrance projects quite strongly. After that, it becomes closer to the skin and lasts on me for well over 12 hours.
I really can't fully understand why this fragrance is marketed exclusively to women. It is such a great scent that, due to the marketing, will certainly remain hidden from some men who would really enjoy it!
