In Orange Land
At first, there’s an extremely sour, authentic clementine/tangerine note, as if someone just peeled one right next to me. Full-on carrot sillage within a 2-meter radius, maybe even more.
An official citrus shock that instantly simulates a vitamin C overdose in the brain.
It doesn’t get more refreshing than this, truly a powerful top note!
My colleague found it a bit too much while testing! But when he peels his clementines, it strangely smells exactly like this!
I love this scent!

After about 15 minutes, it becomes fruitier, and a juicy orange slowly joins in, which then lingers on my skin for between 7 and 9 hours, radiating above average, at least for me.

It remains citrusy fresh with a slight sweetness the entire time.
In the dry down, there’s none of the usual vanilla/tonka soup or "ambered base," nope, you stay in orange land and get exactly what you came for, because the name says it all.

The scent progression is simple but very authentic, which one should appreciate.
A fragrance that smells like vitamin C.
You can even smell the peel here, I think.
Brilliantly done, I’m completely thrilled with this one, amazing.
This thing has serious power for an EDT, as long as you’re willing to invest 8-10 sprays.

There’s really not much more to say, a simple but precisely composed, authentic orange scent with a tangerine/clementine top note and good performance.

Why longevity and sillage were rated so low here is honestly a mystery to me.
Presumably, people only tested with one spray and then "estimated" the performance or something.

Orange by Harry Lehmann is something!
I don’t need to spend 200 - 300 bucks to be happy.

Trust, Creativity, and Little Jumps
Orange creates trust (just pay attention to how many politicians wear orange ties when they have to testify in a committee). And orange wakes you up and sparks creativity. I usually rely on this aromatherapeutic effect when I wear my previous favorite orange fragrance: “Orange Sanguine” by Atelier Cologne. It already wonderfully awakens and brightens. But we know that there is no “Holy Grail” for the nose. There’s always something that can do it just a little bit better. And in this case, it’s simply called “Orange” by Parfum-Individual Harry Lehmann, Berlin.

No orange has ever hit my nose so herb-fruity-fresh-spicy deep and ripe - and so incredibly natural that my heart immediately starts to jump. Yes, this “Orange” awakens the spirits of life! And it does so for a long time and persistently, especially intensely in the first 90 minutes, with a decent sillage for four to five hours and still detectable close to the skin even after eight hours. This may partly be due to my skin chemistry, which often gives well-crafted citrus scents a comparatively high endurance, and probably also to the surprisingly high EdP concentration for a citrus fragrance.

“Orange” does not offer a fully composed development over the wearing time, of course. But that would also be counterproductive, as one wishes for the orangey freshness splash to never fade. Despite all the fresh fruitiness, it is also the scent of a ripe fruit, underlaid with a slight, dark herbaceousness in deeper layers… This leads me to suspect that “Orange” feels most at home on mature, masculine skin.

Since I wasn’t sure about the endurance of “Orange” during our first visit last weekend at Lehmann’s in Kantstraße 106 in Berlin, I cautiously had only 50 ml (priced at €26.50!) bottled - including a fun chat with Mr. Lehmann juniorjunior. I could have been a bit bolder…!

From the Orange Sector II - At the Center of the Astral Orange
I generally like citrus scents, and particularly orange ones, even though they have their inherent weaknesses (notably volatility), are not exactly mysterious, profound, or even erotic, and are not suitable for every occasion. The specific reason for me to try this fragrance was that I had previously tried "Classic Orange" by "von Eusersdorff," a lovely scent, but not "straight orange," and ultimately, I couldn't fully embrace it. So, I wanted to see what Harry Lehmann had to offer on the subject. The result is clearly in favor of Harry's Orange, both in terms of "classically pure orange" and "I like it," which, for a 10 ml portion, also costs only 20% of the other fragrance.

Chemically and compositionally, this scent is not a "pure" orange fragrance, as is evident from the fact that the ingredient list on the bottle also includes other components, including anise. I also asked the saleswoman, who (as usual friendly, but getting straight to the point) said, "No, there's a bit of chemistry in there too."

Sensory-wise, however, it is a pure orange scent; I would say it couldn't be any purer. Or even: It is even more orangey than orange. Occasionally, you really get the impression of smelling as if you had just peeled a fruit with your fingers, but for me, the predominant vision is of moving in the center of an incredibly nice astral orange made of light and energy. Magical!

Of course, this is not a "complex" fragrance (nor should it be), but I do perceive a certain development: Right at the beginning, for the first 15 minutes, the orange smells quite lemony (a statement from my household - "Did someone spill lemon oil here?" - but I didn't find it that lemony), and after about 2 hours, the previously bright orange fruit clearly shifts to a blood orange scent. At times, it is enormously blood orange, which I find all the more interesting since "Classic Orange" explicitly lists blood orange as a fragrance direction/ingredient, but I couldn't detect it there at all.

The sillage is, of course, not a showstopper, except for the first few minutes, but I find the longevity to be quite impressive for a citrus fragrance (again: Berlin wins compared to the noble New York competitor). Even after 6-7 hours, small orange clouds still wafted into my nose from time to time.

All in all: This is, for the time being, MY reference orange fragrance; I suspect I will have to wait a long time before I find a nicer one (if at all). And I would like to assert: Anyone who is not a die-hard citrus hater will find this scent beautiful: Either really great or just "nice," but never unpleasant.

Addendum: Until then, I had never mixed or layered perfumes, but I made a first attempt with this fragrance. You read everywhere that you can mix well with Harry Lehmann scents, and since the orange is naturally a bit one-dimensional, on the other hand, the HL sandalwood in my cabinet is a bit too intense on its own. Oranges grow on trees, so wood with orange can't be wrong. So, I used 2 sprays of sandalwood as a base and then 3-4 sprays of orange on top. It works quite well! At first, the scents stood a bit apart as if they didn't know each other, but after about 30 minutes, they seemed to have connected; the sandalwood loses its piercing aggressiveness, and the orange seems to gain depth. Maybe I'll experiment further...

Only where orange is written, is orange inside!
The fragrance descriptions by Harry Lehmann are as short and unadorned as they are meaningful. For the EdP Orange, it simply states "like a fresh orange," and when you smell it, you think: "Like a fresh orange!"
There’s no need for any marketing fluff like "The scent, a revelation, conveys a feeling of infinity and boundless nature..." (Yves Rocher).
The fragrance speaks for itself, and you get what it says on the bottle. Good!

As a child, I loved the scent of a freshly peeled orange. The EdP comes very close to the natural smell but is significantly more intense. You don’t notice any artificiality, which is a good sign for the quality of the ingredients.

There is no progression, as it is not a composed fragrance. Those who are not orange enthusiasts and do not appreciate simplicity will be disappointed here.

The longevity on my skin is rather moderate. This may generally be due to the fact that the aroma of citrus fruits is very volatile unless artificially extended by other components or is itself artificial.

It is very universal, so it can be worn by both men and women and in any season. It is certainly not an evening scent for the opera, but a very pleasant option for everyday wear.

Well-made minimalism! Nice!

Fresh orange juice, not sweet more fruity, a lot of pulp, no aldehydes, excellent projection for 3-4 hours (only)

Very well done. Like a fresh orange, peel and all. Fruity, citrusy, green, just a hint of orange sweetness, slightly bitter. The blossom bothers me a bit.
