Interesting Facts

The French perfume house Headspace has dedicated itself to creating modern niche fragrances. The label relies on predominantly natural raw materials and "Headspace" technology. The founder of Headspace, Nicolas Chabot, already has experience from the revival of Le Galion and the founding of ÆTHER.
The team also includes designer Jules Dinand, who is the grandson of flacon designer Pierre Dinand. When designing the "Headspace" flacons, Jules Dinand was inspired by the small perfume bottles found on perfumers' desks.

With "Headspace", Nicolas Chabot pursues the goal of combining science and poetry in perfume production. Vapour space analysis, also known as "headspace technology", is used here. This technique is used to create a molecular, olfactory fingerprint of materials. This allows fragrances that cannot be extracted using conventional methods to be obtained. For example, although materials such as asphalt, leather, stone or earth have a characteristic odour, they do not contain extractable essential oils. Thanks to headspace technology, it is now possible to recreate these odours in the laboratory.

In 2022, the young brand presented its first seven fragrances, which are intended to bridge the gap between science and art.
