Intoxicating and spicy
Vertiver Royal feels like I am the spice jar and she is me. Like fresh sanded wood rubbed down with chillis and allspice. It leans more masculine, though after 3-4 hours I do get more of the vanilla and floral notes - but just a hint.
It keeps a burn to it for the entire wear that is bright and clean, somehow like the smell of fire without smoke? This feels like the perfect winter scent on me, but sprayer beware, this one lasts allllll day and 2-3 spritz's on your pulse points is more than enough.
If I were going to layer it, I would balance it with a vanilla or honey or brown sugar - something maybe a bit powdery and very sweet to drag the warm spice towards a gourmand. On it's own, it's not sweet. Still, strong as it is, i find there is something classic to it.
If i were a grand lady with a mysterious and exotic past who may or may not have killed her third husband, this what i would wear to the funeral before i fled the winter and the investigation for a new life in the Caribbean.
