I was so curious

The hype got me, and in the end I bought it. Now, I’ve never smelled the Guerlain vanilla this is supposed to be duping, but I am very skeptical that a niche luxury fragrance can be duped for such a low price.

So, I’m not speaking about the perfume as a dupe, I’m speaking about this perfume as a perfume I blind bought (after swearing to never do it again!).

Well, I’m surprised. While Vanilla Voyage for me was quite the fiasco, the first thing I’ve said after spraying this was “oh”. It’s deep, it’s rich, it’s sweet, it’s dark, it’s potent and extremely long lasting. I can definitely smell the fixative part of the perfume that reminds me of Narciso Rodrigo La Peau Nue.
For the price I think it’s a lovely vanilla, just spray with caution, you don’t want to intoxicate people around you.

Strong sillage too, and the sillage is really where this perfume shines at least to my nose.

Surprisingly, a successful blind buy!

A good vanilla

I was very very very curious about the fragrance that divided the internet, so as soon as I could find it I placed an order. I have tested Vanille Planifolia from Guerlain in their official boutique, and I have to say that there are similarities between VP and Vanilla Aura if you smell the bottle nozzle (on skin things are different). It is not a dupe, but they are somewhat from the same extended family.
Back to Vanilla Aura. Although I rarely like a middle eastern fragrance, this one is very pleasant, none of those annoying notes that are found in most "dupes". It is a grown up vanilla, not gourmand or very sweet, slightly spicy. I can sense most of the notes (very faint citrus and sandalwood), and if the chocolate was better done, to my nose it would have been closer to VP. I understand why for some people there is a slight weird feeling about it, it does smell a bit like the inside of a surgical glove + cinnamon and vanilla, if that makes any sense. I actually like this, but keep in mind that I am also a very big fan of the "rubber" vibes of Rosendo Mateu No. 5. I find these 2 to be divisive in the same manner, although they are definitely not similar, just trying to explain as best I can the unusual vibes they give.
Anyway, longevity is very good, but after showering the smell that lingers is that of a ... less expensive base for a fragrance. It is, after all, a very affordable edp, so that checks.

TLDR This is a nice vanilla and I will definitely enjoy it. It stands alone as a good affordable perfume, and for some it may be reminiscent of Vanille Planifolia, but don't count on it.

Good, but GREAT Layered With Ambre Samar

Trust me boys & girls, this layered with Guerlain Ambre Samar, 2:1 AS:VA. Might push a teeny bit fem but not enough that it’s unsuitable for a guy. To my fellow men, I’d say this layering combo actually leans into your masculinity to wear it with confidence but most importantly, you’ll smell incredible and intriguing. Ladies - I promise you’ll not smell like a confident man, you’ll smell like THE woman. Either way folks, you’ll smell phenomenal & that you sprayed with purpose. Not in summer though. You’ll choke yourself and anyone within a 10 metre radius.

Everyone is talking about Aura...

Either you love it or you hate it. Aura starts citrusy spicy and really a bit strange.
However, it develops in the drydown into one of the most beautiful scents in my collection. An adult vanilla pod, slightly powdery, slightly sweet, and simply special. I immediately bought a backup.

Smoky Her Confession

Well, luckily I tested this fragrance instead of buying it blindly…

Yesterday, I excitedly went to my trusted fragrance dealer and was finally able to test "Vanilla Aura | Maison Asrar."

After the strongly alcoholic opening, the very delicate vanilla started to emerge. It's quite nice, especially when you're used to vanilla beasts. Something for warmer days.
But that’s where it ends.
Directly followed was this smoky note from the description, and it killed everything…
From start to finish, it’s burnt. Not smoky in a beautiful way, sultry, or whatever you might expect from smoky.
No, burnt…

If it weren't for the burnt smell, the fragrance would be incredibly similar to Her Confession...
Nothing special.

It's really like Her Confession in woodshop class, as they decorate a piece of wood with a soldering iron.
That's exactly how it always smelled in woodshop class…

Nevertheless, the longevity is enormous. I sprayed it on my wrist yesterday evening around 5 PM, and now, at 10 AM, it’s still there.
Since then, I've washed and moisturized my hands because I actually wanted to wash it off. No chance…
Use a test strip!
The sillage is definitely a bit more than just a light aura. More like a cloud of smoke that you stand in…

I can't smell Guerlain at all! But Bianco Latte is there. Burnt sugar with baking vanilla, very rich and strong. A bit too much for me, unfortunately.
